The Valamar President has perhaps the best views in Dubrovnik, but the physical property is starting to show its age. We had a rocky start—our first room had curtains that wouldn't close, and had several broken fixtures and a dirty fridge. It’s also disappointing that the spa jacuzzi has been out of service for so many months.
That said, the service remains excellent. The staff handled our complaints professionally, and management eventually wiped our bar tab and most of our bill to compensate for the trouble. If you want a modern, high-tech hotel, this isn't it; but if you value service and incredible sunsets, it’s still a great spot. Just check your room thoroughly upon arrival!
