An interesting hotel on many levels (not just the numerous uneven floors and staircases due to the age of the building!) Great location. Quality of the steaks within the Marco Pierre White restaurant not great / I was there a few months back and similar quality issues then. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone. The location is perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The rooms are offered at a sensible price. Excellent value for money overall. Highly recommend for a relaxing short break!

We were absolutely fuming to be woken up at 04.00 by a HGV dustbin lorry collecting rubbish from the bins outside our bedroom window. After getting back to sleep we were again woken up by the extremely loud fire alarm going off at 06.00. Nobody came around to say if it was just a false alarm and not to evacuate, and no explanation was given at reception when asked about the alarm. I was told that the HGV dustbin lorry was from the council, but I find it hard to believe that the council collect rubbish at 04.00 on a bank holiday Monday so I do wonder if if I was told the truth, and if I was told the truth, then is that the best that you can do, allowing the emptying your bins in the middle of the night, regardless of how many guests get woken up ? I do realise that the fire alarm was probably due to some idiot smoking or vaping in their room, but the whole hotel was awoken and no explanation was given, and wherever the alarm was activated would be shown up on the fire control board, so the source would have been identified. Absolutely disgusted and fuming

I felt very safe and well looked after .

Loved having access to a kitchen and a washing machine, much needed after 3 wks camping. Beds were supper comfy cozy, and contrary to other reviews we did not find the street noise bothersome, and we had the windows open. Traffic noise calmed by midnight. Place was very well looked after by hardworking staff, we saw staff regularly in the 4 days we stayed. Shout out to them, because it's deplorable the mess other guests left in the kitchen. Very inconsiderate not leaving it clean for the next users.

Hotel is rather rundown and shabby. It is clean though. I paid for a family room one queen bed w a sofa. I was traveling with my brother so he could not stay in the same bed. He graciously slept on the couch. He went to talk to somebody on duty and they seem like they were going to raise the rate that we paid for a lesser room. I said no, I did not. Anyway, the staff was rather rude and the room was not what we paid for.
