This hotel is the worst I’ve stayed in years. The sheets had someone else’s hair on them even though the bed was made. They obviously just made the beds to make it look like it had been cleaned but did not wash the bedding. There is not a single coffee pot in the entire building so literally bring your own coffee pot or go without until you leave. The front desk chastised us for checking in at 9:55pm stating the lobby is closed between 10pm & 9am even if you have already paid Expedia. This is stated in fine print on their website but nowhere is it disclosed through Expedia. The amount of activity through the night & early morning hours very much looked like drug activity. It was such a shock to see such a terrible hotel in the heart of a beautiful area like Cottonwood Heights.

I was looking for an inexpensive version of a Residence Inn to try to save money on this trip by utilizing the kitchenette and preparing dinners during my stay. However, the kitchenette is NOT stocked (no pans, no dishes, no silverware, dish soap, etc.). These were all available for an additional fee, but this was not made obvious during the booking process nor description on the Expedia site. In the end, I ended up not saving money having going out to eat and the experience was no better than staying in a budget hotel (and perhaps a bit worse). A number of items in the initial room did not work, so the very friendly manager tried her best to accommodate me as best she could in a different room, which I appreciated her efforts for. This experience has probably turned me off from any ESA stays in the future. I'll gladly spend extra to get a higher quality budget hotel and be happier about it.

Not for me

Could not get into my room even though had been told in advance I could use the lobby phone if arriving after midnight. 3 other parties also in lobby after midnight having been told same thing - to use lobby phone to get checked in after hours. No answer when used cell to call local location either. Assistant manager did provide a refund today as I did, after waiting 30+ minutes, give up and left to find another room. Also, I did not feel safe there as a woman traveling alone.

One of the very few hotels that I’ve been to that doesn’t have a parking area for check-in. They asked for my license plate. I told her I would give it to her when I return that evening. The front desk was closed before 10 PM and was not open at nine when I left. There was no shampoo in the bathrooms. The refrigerator was old and very noisy. I’m not quite sure how an obese person gets in and out of that bathroom. it’s so cramped.

Save your money!! Go somewhere else.

Check in was terrible! Room wasn’t ready at 10:30 pm even though I called earlier in the day to say we would be checking in late. We did not feel safe and was very disappointed our room wasn’t ready. Tried to cancel but got the run around. Nobody could give me a refund even though we never stayed there. We went to another hotel and stayed that night. I will never recommend or stay at this hotel ever again. It was the worst experience ever!!!

If you are a homeless person, this place is perfect for you. If you are not a homeless person, do not stay at this hotel. The room is dirty, the hallways are noisy, people live there and it is impossible to have a peaceful night's sleep. I almost forgot about the dogs barking all night long. I was going to stay for 5 nights and I preferred to look for another hotel and unfortunately I lost the money for my reservation.

Not worth the money to stay here.

We checked in late and the counter staff was very nice and helpful. When we arrived to the room I need to use the bathroom. I entered and found that the toilet was not clean and had poop stains in the toilet, along with pee dribble on the seat. The bathroom mirror had dried spots all over it. All else apeared ok. The room is in need of updating. The kitchen has no utensils, dishes, pots or pans in it. We were to tired from our long drive to ask the front desk for a room change. I slept on top of the covers and used a blanket i brought on the trip.

Would not recommend

Staff was friendly, however, room was not cleaned properly. No pillow cases on the pillows, room had a horrible odor. Lot of traffic on the 2nd floor. Children running up and down the halls in the middle of the night. Last straw was when someone was trying to open our door. My family and I left one day early and checked into another hotel. Clientele/residents were sketchy.
