Elegant Convenience

The hotel is lovely and our room was spacious and clean. We loved the AC and the option for a room with three beds. Food was good although service was a bit slow. Good location near Guinness. Bathrooms in lobby downstairs not super accessible. Bed firm.

We chose the Ashling hotel because of its location near the Dublin Heuston train station. It's an easy walk across the river from the station to the Ashling. Upon check-in, staff was friendly, gave us an upgraded room with a view of the City (we could see Guinness) from our window, and offered dining suggestions. You can access most of the main city attractions within a mile of the hotel, so it is very walkable. We would stay here again.

Was somewhat disappointed in the restaurant service. On one occasion I asked for a large glass of wine and I got a small glass. On another occasion after finishing my glass of wine I had to wait at least 20 minutes for my next glass when there were three girls chatting around the desk and I had to make myself known.

We had an okay stay. We stayed 3 nights. It was just ok. Lobby and restaurant are beautiful so when we got to our room we were a bit disappointed… not enough to complain but I don’t think we will be returning to this property again. No in room coffee maker there was a tea pot with instant coffee and paper cups. Other Dublin hotels at a similar price point we stayed in do much better with in room comforts. Beds were extremely uncomfortable mattresses felt cheap and thin. We had 3 beds in our family room and all were equally uncomfortable. The bar and wait staff in restaurants were lacking service was not good considering the price point. They were friendly but not getting much done. We had 6 different people coming to our table and it was hard to get what we needed. The food however was delicious. Carpets in all guest-room areas is old and very weirdly 80s designs on it. No conditioner provided in room.

Beautiful hotel right next to the LUAS station. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Great breakfast selection too. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even stored our large suitcases while we took a side trip to Scotland for 5 days. Highly recommend!

Overall the hotel was clean, but it is dated. Rooms and bathrooms were outdated. It did fit all four of us. The staff was nice. Location is not in the city center. You’ll have to take the tram into the city or it’s about a 30 minute walk. Location is not the most convenient and not too many shops or restaurants nearby.
