Overall, a fine hotel with friendly, attentive staff. Great location; beautiful building. I rated it down a bit because of minor annoyances: no Kleenex in the room, had to ask for additional toilet paper because room was not restocked, few and inconveniently located electrical outlets. Minor problems that could be easily fixed.

Such a beautiful hotel. They had the cutest library on the first floor. The breakfast was so good as well. Our room was so comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay there again.

We were there for a 7 night stay , placed in a “basement room” until we spoke up and got moved to a room on the 4th floor, which was better! Tried to have a cocktail in the bar, they were out of most liqueurs! Definitely NOT worth the $2700 dollars we spent in American dollars! We could have stayed in a much nicer hotel for the same price! Lesson learned!

Excellent choice

It's located at a beautiful & quiet location (close to Dean's Village) in a beautiful and well maintained house. Rooms are bid, comfort & very clean just as all the interior spaces are very clean and cozy. Breakfast is delicious, with a variety of options to savour.

Very nice stay

Nice hotel in a convenient location. Spacious room with lovely views. It was very hot when we visited the city and room was very stuffy as no air conditioner. It was Impossible to open windows either. I guess this kind of weather doesn’t happen too often so it shouldn’t be a problem in general. Breakfast was really good and staff were really nice and helpful.

Bed was comfortable and great bathroom! It was a little noisy because it is a bed amd breakfast so the sound proofing in an old building isn’t as great as a new one

This property is well priced and situated and if you drive there is payable on street parking. Would recommend and would stay again. Only very small criticism is there was on one behind the bar to serve you when arrived before check in

Beautiful rooms with a view of Edinburgh Castle and other nearly monuments. Clean and comfortable rooms and delicious hot or cold breakfasts. The staff is both friendly and helpful. We were only there one night and didn't get to use the library or frequent the bar. But we want to next time. Set in a safe neighborhood within walking distance of the tram and buses. Great value!

Charming but comfy historic townhouse

Good location, charming historic large townhouse in a quiet, elegant neighborhood. Not in tge center BUT tram 3 blocks away takes u to the center in 10 minutes. Room and bath were very spacious and comfy with huge view of Edinburgh. Breakfast for Scotland was so-so.

We had a lovely little room on the 4th floor. We had a fantastic view of Edinburgh castle and hills surrounding Edinburgh. Monday during storm Floris, we were allowed into the B&B early and allowed to sit in the bar area to keep warm. A lovely blond lady whose name i cannot remember made us a cup of coffee. This made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was very nice, lots to choose from. The whole place is nice and clean and all the staff were very accomodating and polite. Would defintely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

Does the job....and a little bit more.

A lovely, traditional hotel not too far from town centre, (15 minutes walk). Love the idea of a library. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was nice, but they have a sign up advertising allergen info, to let them know.....but then don't seem to know how to deal with it. The staff were pleasant but not particularly forthcoming. But I would recommend it as a place to stay for value and location .
