The air con in the room was stuck on freezing, the room itself was looking tired and in need of a touch up, and parts of the shower controls were missing. I am not in a hurry to return to this hotel.

I actually NEVER got to stay as my sister was rushed into hospital and is still in hospital now… when my enquired about changing my booking which was only for the one night to attend a concert on the city I was flatly refused… the money I’m not overly concerned about, it was their utter reluctance to simply chant the date whereas I had no issue paying any extra charges which would inevitably occur… I now intend to publish this to all my friends across the vast network of U.K. ARMED VETERANS NETWORK… as I feel it’s an appalling lack of empathy and customer service.

Hotel didn't take cash- something we were not aware of before. This policy is discriminatory, particularly to overseas tourists who have plenty of G.B.P currently and their bank cards charge foreign exchange fees. Could not even get a drink at the bar using the Kings legal currency. The 'premier' (or privilege) room only had a double bed. For a executive/premier or privilege room one would expect a bigger (i.e king size) bed. The heating system was not working it was very cold January in Scotland. However when I raised this, it was immediately rectified by very quick provision of a plug in heater for the room. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Shower/bathroom fine & hot water ample.

It was definitely cold in the room and throughout the hotel. We decided to leave after the first night due to the ice age. We were refunded for the unused nights. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We were offered a heater, but it wasn't powerful enough to heat our room. It was maybe 14°C with the heater on.

Very clean property and room. Early check in and late check out. Very accommodating to our itinerary. Smart TV in room also was great to watch after a long day of walking and getting caught in the rain. Didn’t eat or drink at property but the staff was very pleasant and we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again.

The air conditioning/ heating is broken, in January, in Edinburgh, in every single room. And they’ve run out of electric heaters. They don’t tell you when you check in in the hopes you’ll be ok with it. Had to rebook in a leonardo and get a refund- did f want to pay £120 for a freezing cold room.

Overall, the stay was nice and the hotel is in a good location, around a 15-minute walk to the town centre. However, we were misinformed about the room we had booked. We were told it was a Privilege Room, but on arrival we were given a disabled-access room with a very different layout to what was shown in the pictures, which was disappointing. We raised this during our stay, but unfortunately nothing was done to resolve it. Aside from this issue, the stay itself was pleasant.

We were put into a room with disabled facilities which was not what we booked and told we could move to a room in the basement but that was smelly so kept disabled room. After first night we woke up to our bedroom carpet being wet. They said we had done it from our showers but said it wasn’t so had to move rooms again.

Our stay at this hotel was very nice an had a lot of good accommodations. It was also in a nice location that was easy walking distance to all the attractions. We were a little surprised to have a room in the very lower level, below ground level, but it was quite and comfortable. The shower was always warm and room was clean. The room cleaning services were also very great and they cleaned our room well everyday. There were just little things that could have been updated or maybe a little outdated, which is why we didn’t rate ir 5 stars, but overall is was a comfortable and nice place to stay and we would stay again, however next time booking an above ground room.
