Our hosts were very helpful and accommodating, There is a full kitchen for guests use and there were always snacks, coffee and tea available. Trams to town center and the docks are right outside the door with a stop a block away. No complaints from us!

I loved this place great for my people on a budget large kitchen to use free milk tea coffee fruit and muffins vert clean and wat a bonus to have a fridge in your room Laundry parking Staff are really nice Looks old and dreary but it’s not when ya get in teammate right outside loads of shops pubs restaurants in walking distance Best hotel yet

This property is old and dated, but it was clean, comfortable, our host was great, and it offered more amenities than most of the high priced airbnbs we stayed in on this trip. And it's right on the tram line. Leith looked like a pretty cool area to explore if we'd had more time.

It was very cozy, the staff was very friendly. Very cute place, will hopefully visit again in the future! Incredibly aesthetic, very good for a couples getaway. Wonderful location, right on the tram line so very easy for exploring the city!

A fabulous stay and a great welcome. Enjoyed the fresh fruit every morning along with the availability of a well equipped kitchen to prepare our own meals. The room was serviced daily with plenty of towels and amenities. The tram stop is near by. The room was clean and the bed comfy. Thanks

Great place to stay in Edinburgh

Our stay was perfect. Craig is a warm and knowledgeable host who shared with us information on the history of the hotel as well as provided us with a map, restaurant recommendations (We took his recommendation and ate at The King's Wark which was great food) and gave us a tour of the room and the common space. Our room was perfect for our overnight stay. The room was in great shape and perfectly maintained (not an easy task with an older facility) Our stay was perfect and will book with Pillar House the next time we stay in Edinburgh

It is certainly dated but easy access to a large kitchen. Lots of snacks and coffee. Close to a grocery store. Right on the tram line so easy from airport. One problem, it was very difficult to get the right temperature for the shower. In fact the water was scalding hot when we went to turn it off. We had to drop a bath towel in the tub to turn in off so we did not get burnt.

Wonderful stay - would highly recommend

Really impressed with this place, especially for the very fair price we paid. Convenient location about 200 yards from tram stop. Really spacious room which had small kitchen facility as added bonus. Staff friendly and luggage storage helpful. Only gripe was that our shower in the en suite bathroom did not work v well

Clean and comfortable

Charming older building a short walk from coffee shops, restaurants and Edinburgh’s excellent tram network and public transit. The room was tidy and serviceable, staff was friendly and responsive, all at a great price point. It’s not the Omni, to be clear, but it’s a comfortable place to use for exploring Edinburgh. Do note that there are stairs to the rooms so keep accessibility in mind.
