Clean and comfortable room, excellent service, extras such as a glass of wine on arrival and a complimentary nightcap at 9pm were a notable and appreciated courtesy.
Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Glass of wine on arrival and treats in the room were a lovely touch. Close to Rutland Waters and plenty of places to visit nearby.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Room was clean, staff were very friendly, breakfast was good. Current dinner menu seemed somewhat limited compared to previous ones online and dinner prices were high.
Nice Hotel with pleasant staff . Relaxing . Excellent Food albeit expensive.. Note their is a Supplement of £25 pp to use the Spa Facilities if you have not booked via the Hotel Website..
Enjoyable stay however and the complementary Red wine at 4pm is a nice touch. Breakfast Team are super friendly..
Another great stay at the Barnsdale, great setting, great room with benefit of access to the Spar. Bliss will be back

A nice experience.
Great location, room was quiet. Everything just looked a bit tired though. Food was excellent although they were very keen to clear your plates away as soon as you finish finished eating. Overall a nice experience.
Good check-in and glass of wine offered. Nice rural vibes. Breakfast awful - for such a high room rate, queuing with the previous days wedding party for a very average offer wasn’t a nice start to your day. Seriously, the sausages and Bacon were Premier Inn at best! Also, the world of breakfast has moved on and you need to change not stay locked in the 90s.
A lovely hotel with a friendly team of staff. Access to the spa was a great bonus. The food was really good and welcome drink a nice surprise. We ate in the restaurant both nights. The Courtyard was a lovely space to take your drink. Good location. I would recommend a stay at this hotel.

Disliked: Staff & service
Poor service from management. Food average but ££
My partner (wearing socks)stepped on a staple sticking up in the room carpet causing a puncture wound to his foot. The staple was given to reception staff - they expressed concern and said the Manager would want to speak to us - but he was busy and would catch us later. We were around during the evening and at breakfast but no-one sought us out. After paying the bill we completed an accident form and were asked to wait and talk to a Manager. We waited 10 mins but, again, they were busy so we said we'd see them later in the day when we returned to collect our car. We again waited 10 minutes but still no-one came to see us so we left for home feeling totally ignored.
Accidents happen but how they are dealt with make a difference to a customers experience. We did not feel valued.
Restaurant food is average and overpriced. £5 for side dish of Jersey Royal potatoes - they came sliced and fried. I think they had been cooked the day before.
The bedside reading lights do not work unless the main light is on!!!
The room was clean and comfortable but had a noise problem from people upstairs - sounded like two elephants walking around at 6.30 in morning.
Courtyard is a nice place to sit and have drink. Breakfast was nice.
