The room at The Citizen was excellent—very nice and spotless. However, the stay had some major issues. The restaurant was closed without any prior warning, which was a huge inconvenience. Also, the area immediately surrounding the hotel is difficult; there were a large number of homeless people right outside the entrance. Most of the staff were friendly, but we dealt with one staff member who had a terrible attitude and clearly didn't want to be working. It’s a shame because the hotel building itself is lovely, but the experience needs improvement.
