Getting Around Berlin

It’s uber-easy to get around once flights to Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL) arrive. You’ve got a few express bus options from the airport to hotels in Berlin, and between the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams and even bikes, you’ll never be far from awesomeness.

When You Land…

Pop quiz: What does Berlin’s club scene have to do with breakfast? Well, second-to-none nightlife (we’ll get to that later) means giant, hangover-curing breakfasts. Those on early-morning Berlin flights can get off the U-Bahn at Rosenthaler Platz and follow their nose to towering platters of wurst, cheese and pretzels.

Afternoon arrivals will be behind on their fruhschoppen (morning beer-drinking), so drop your stuff and hit the biergarten, stat. For some history with your suds, head to Prater, Berlin’s oldest beer garden. It’s seen political uprisings and famous movie stars, but these days, it’s all about the bier.

Late-nighters, never fear. Nightlife won’t get going till past midnight, so you’ve got plenty of time. When the clock strikes 12, dance over to Friedrichshain to discover nightclubs as legendary as the beer gardens.
