Such character and comfort in the heart of Firenze. Literally moments away from the Duomo, Mercato Centrale and Medici chapel, we loved the convenience and opportunity to relax and explore during our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Amazing AC Location is unbeatable Comfortable bed Daily bed making/housekeeping Lots of outlets to charge electronics Room was large-we got the one with the balcony Cons: The noise of neighbors slamming doors and turning keys from 10pm-12am and 6:30-8am every day. Sleep was hard to come by The pillows on the bed were flat as pancakes, but the bed was so soft and that AC, man it was amazing! THE 84 stair climb to our room, a rough go with 50pds of luggage, but it was a great spot!-and so worth it!

The one and only reason to book this location is the location itself. The two rooms we stayed in were beyond outdated, with rust in the shower, very old shower heads, marks of water damages in the bathroom ceiling, a tiny tiny tv screen. Each and every time someone walks into the building the door gets slam shut very loudly. The maintenance level is super low but they do try to keep it clean.

Not a good experience. Luckily we were only there for one night and that was torture enough. It’s only positive is that it is close to everything. Our bathroom wasn’t in our room, we had to walk out of the room and use a key to unlock the bathroom. It was extremely hot, they weren’t ready at check in time. The room was a good size but I was scared I was gonna get bed bugs it just wasn’t a professional and easy place. Also extremely hard to locate. Spend the extra 50-100$ and don’t waste your time here.

Great location, friendly staff! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The property offers pre and post luggage storage which is a bonus and convenient for the stay. 2 Minutes to the Duomo. Highly recommend this place to travellers with carry on luggage or lighter.

Very big, beautiful room and bathroom. Location is very good and convenient and central to everything in Florence. The only downsides were that it was a bit hard to find the entrance when we got there, a lot of stairs (But good exercise! Sadly no elevator). Also, our room was right in front of the front desk which was a convenient location, but at night and during the day was very loud from people coming in. However, overall a good experience!

The toilet was dirty when we got in the room. We called housekeeping and all the lady did was put a toilet bowl cleaner and didn’t use a brush to clean out the toilet. I had to use the toilet brush to clean the toilet.

I was very pleasantly impressed. The best thing about the stay was the parking garage option. It was a few minutes walk and cost us 30 euros for 24 hours. We got the room with the attached bathroom which was perfect for our family of 5. The staff at the reception was very polite and helpful.

Great location - close walk to almost all the main sites. Friendly staff and clean rooms. 38 stair steps from street to lobby (no elevator lift). Then more steps to some rooms.Not for people that have a hard time with steps.

Overall stay was good. In a brilliant location, so close to the Duomo and only 10 mins walk from the train station. Room was a good size and clean, and had tea/coffee making facilities. However, it was not mentioned that there are no lifts, and we had to carry our suitcases up 82 steps to our room.

The staff was nice, checking in was easy.The hallways and staircase leading up to the property smelled like sewage, the actual lobby of the property and the room smelled musty. The mattress was the worst mattress I had ever aid on and the bathroom is very small and outdated. We were actually supposed to stay two nights but we ended up checking out early the next morning, couldn't barre the thought of staying there another night.This property is not worth the price that I payed.

Light sleepers beware

Overall the stay was good. We really enjoyed the private balcony to have a morning coffee overlooking the Basilica (though they never gave us more after the first day). Room was a great size, bathroom was good, small shower but good water pressure. Location was perfect. The stairs up with our luggage sucked but that’s not uncommon in Europe. However, I cannot recommend this place simply because of the lack of soundproofing. We could hear people walking around in their own rooms, opening and closing doors, the door to enter the floor was very loud. We both lost a lot of sleep because of it, earplugs didn't get rid of the sound completely. If you sleep heavily then I’d recommend this place.

Our stay at this bed and breakfast was disappointing. The building is old and lacks an elevator, which was not mentioned in the Expedia listing. We had to climb six flights of stairs, making it extremely difficult to carry our suitcases to the room. The experience felt more like staying in a dormitory than a comfortable accommodation. For the price, it was not worth it—it was not cheap, and the overall experience did not justify the cost. While we love Florence, this particular stay did not meet our expectations. We raised our concerns with Expedia but would not recommend this location.

Amazing location and Clean

The room was very clean and the person at front desk was very nice. He called us a taxi to the airport when we left. The location was perfect. There was no window in our room (we knew that going into it) it wasn’t too hot, it was nice and cool. The bathroom being outside of the room was a little inconvenient but was private to just us and was very clean.

A basic, clean level of accommodation at an inexpensive price - for Florence! No frills, double bed needs upgrading. No elevator so be prepared to climb up 40 narrow steps to your room so travel light if you are older travellers as we were. Quiet. Nice shower and bathroom and a stone’s throw away from main tourist attractions!

My wife and I have a wonderful experience in Florence and stay in Guest House Bel Duomo, the location is super convenient, bed comfortable, the building a little old, we were in the four floor and didn’t have elevator but wasn’t a problem, we had our own bathroom but outside our room, with our own key to access, I never experienced that before but it was ok. Super safe area, nice staff and once again, the location literally next to the Florence Duomo is unbeatable.
