If you are looking for an immersive experience in staying in section 8 housing, look no further than Fort Lauderdale’s Red Carpet Inn! You’ll be subject to banging doors at all hours of the night, constant loud conversations in the hallway regardless of what time it is, junkies watching television on their phone right outside your doorway for some reason. Room was clean and very adequate for staying close to the airport. However, it’s clear that this is one of those places that they have turned into affordable housing for folks as well and those people really seem to not care about anyone or anything. It was quite remarkable. I literally did not sleep. It’s a shame as it would be a decent hotel if not for the other people living there.

I loved the free self parking as well as the easy check in process and the low holding fee! The air conditioning was good but the sheets and room were very damp and the floor was like sweating like someone had just mopped. Just beware of the slippery floors when it’s very hot out. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would come back!
