Book Graves Mill hotels

Been here several times and it's always wonderful. On the surface, it's a nicely appointed motor lodge or cabin, but it's the whole situation that makes it incredibly special. Big Meadows sits on the edge of a mountain, with a view into the Shenandoah Valley. There is a restaurant with a stunning view right from the dining room, a grill, and pub, all of which have different food, and you can walk out right from there on a number of hikes. A quick drive along Skyline Drive will bring you to several other iconic hikes of all difficulty levels, and many excellent views right from the road. Watching the fog roll up the mountains and through the trees around the lodge is magical. The one thing to be aware of is that the bathrooms are pretty basic and the water pressure is meh. But the ambiance and location can't be beat.

The Breakfast was good, a buffet style. There was a good variety and the things that were supposed to be hot, were hot. No complaints

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was well maintained and beautiful.

This place was amazing and should be looked at as a 5 star resort. It was VERY clean the staff was VERY friendly. And the hotel and its views were beyond words. I recommend this place to everyone.

Great location right outside of Luray for an affordable price. Very quiet and easy to check in. We called and got our door code and we were in earlier than our check-in time. The rooms had clearly been remodeled recently with updated flooring, paint, furniture, etc. The sheets and towels were lacking though. It doesn't seem like they upgraded the towels since they upgraded the rooms. Very thin, very small. The door that connected to another room had a very wobbly doorknob which made it feel unsafe between rooms, but I wasn't overly concerned. Liked that there was a mini fridge with a freezer, microwave, and small single coffee machine. We had the 2 bedroom suite at the very end, so we had plenty of space for the 4 of us. We were only there one night so we didn't use anything else on the property, but it seemed ok and better than the hotels we passed in the area!

The resort was clean and quiet, which my family enjoyed since it wasn’t very busy. The condos are a little outdated and could use upgrades, so if you’re looking for luxury accommodations this may not be the best option. Also keep in mind that most amenities come with an extra cost very little is included besides the pool. We were given rec center passes, only to find out upon arrival that the arcade games still required additional payment. The restaurants were mediocre, and there aren’t many coffee options on-site. I ended up driving off the resort for coffee before realizing the market sells a small selection with a limited menu. The only other coffee shop was inside the water park, which you cannot access without purchasing water park tickets. We didn’t do many resort activities because most extras were overpriced. Instead, we chose to spend time at the mall and a spa off the property. Booking information for the spa on the website was unclear, especially regarding pricing. This was supposed to be a relaxing Mother’s Day getaway for my family. Unfortunately, the timeshare tour offered on our checkout date was not a pleasant experience. Had we known beforehand that this was a timeshare resort, we likely would have booked elsewhere and skipped the tour entirely. Once we declined purchasing a timeshare, the sales staff became noticeably rude. That being said, the general resort staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay.
