I had stayed as a getaway from the city for my Birthday. It was the perfect place to be. The pool and hottub as well as the whirlpool within the hotel room were amazing. We loved the layout of the hotel. The gym is small but has a treadmill, elliptical and a few weights with a bench. The hotel is well-maintained and very clean. I can not speak of the attached restaurant since we had not tried it. The surrounding city is a cute little town in walkable distance.

Beautiful and charming hotel. Unfortunately, the electric outlets in our room were dead. Two wall outlets only had one of the two plugs working. And the plugs at the desk lamp were too loose to use. With phones, C-Pap, and other electronics, plugs are important to travelers. Hope they correct for the next guest.

The hotel was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable and soft. Probably the nicest hotel in Luray. The only problem we had was the air conditioner wasn’t working properly. The room thermostat was set to 68 and by morning the room temperature was up to 78. It got pretty stuffy in the room. Didn’t have the most comfortable sleep with it being that warm even though the bed was comfortable.

Wonderful historic hotel

This was our second time staying at the Mimslyn. It is a beautiful hotel with lots of history. Setting is amazing at the top of the hill overlooking the town. The suites are large and comfortable and the wine selection available in the lobby is nice. Will stay here again.

As a historic hotel, it was only the outside appearance that felt historic. The rooms are small. The TV is barely large enough within the cabinet and the picture does not even fill the screen. When we asked that someone try to fix that issue, nothing changed. For the price, breakfast was not included. There are other hotel options in the area for far less, and include breakfast, and I would opt to use one of them in the future.

Lovely old mansion/inn; nice porch/patio/lobby seating. Room was small but well appointed. Speak Easy restaurant was good; only criticism was that given its name and decor, the piped-in techno-pop music killed the vibe. Also was a bit surprised/disappointed that the waitress didn’t know anything about the local wines (given that the hotel even private-labeled one), and the wine specials with dinner were all from Chile.

Wonderful property to spend a few days exploring the area. Spent two nights here while visiting the national park nearby. A wonderful experience in all aspects. Accommodations were comfortable, onsite dining options for breakfast and lunch, and friendly staff. Loved spending time sitting on the front porch of the Inn after dinner each night. So quiet and peaceful. Will definitely be back in the future.
