Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
Room was supposed to be a deluxe state but it was anything but. The room needed a redecoration, it was not of a standard that would be considered deluxe. A room at a premier inn would outdo this room . It was needing a good clean. The bathroom was dirty by the bath tap and the sink as well as the extractor fan. It also needs a refurb.
Mould showing around the tiles.it all looked drab and tired. Nothing deluxe about it- I feel we paid over the odds for this room.
The lift wasn’t working( we had received an email before arriving but we thought it would be possibly working by our arrival- it wasn’t and the whole time we stayed we didn’t see any work being done to get the lift working.
The stairs looked dirty as well as the carpeting both on the stairs and leading to the rooms as well as it was bubbling up ready to cause a trip hazard . The eating area was next to the reception- all open plan; it was chilly- no barriers to help make it feel like a private place to eat and relax. No idea why this wasn’t thought of at the planning stage. It would have cut down the noise and echo as well as the feel one was eating in a room and not a big reception area with all the comings and going’s of people arriving for rooms or the ins and outs of people from the conference area using the toilets. Very disappointing visit. We thought we had found a gem of a hotel to stay at while visiting family.
