This hotel was far too busy for me. It was a zoo each morning at the buffet. Long waiting lines, people bumping into each other, sneezing, coughing, etc. In the end, I decided to eat elsewhere. It felt very unhygenic. It is listed as a 4 star hotel. The room I stayed in had paint peeling in the bathroom and suite area and in general looked and felt old and worn. I conveyed my opinion to Reception and they basically ignored me. The hotel receptionist informed my friends and I to use Central Stockholm taxi to get to Old Town. We did that and took a cab that was sitting right outside the airport. It turns out it was a scam and not a real taxi. He charged us over 800 SEK for a 12 minute trip. This was 3-4 times that price it should have been. We informed that hotel and didn't hear anything back from them. We were lucky it wasn't much worse. The location was not good and it was a long walk from Central Stockholm. Very disappointing. I would not recommend the Clarion Amaranten hotel.

Five stars despite a few niggles. Very comfortable stay. Beds especially, which is always make or break. The location is very good , right next to the subway and I only one stop to the central subway interchange. The staff unfailingly helpful, and the rooms standard, but sizable and comfortable. The only downsides were the breakfast room which was absolutely packed and made it difficult to get to the food and find a seat to sit in. Gave up completely one morning and went a bakery instead. The other grumble was it took three requests for a kettle and when it did appear it was broken. Likewise the conditioner bottle in the bathroom was never fixed despite asking twice. A broken pump meant it couldn't be used Nevertheless, these grumbles aside, everything was exemplary and the customer service always good natured.

Proximity to downtown and the breakfast was very good. The lounge area was nice to relax in The room could be a little cleaner the walls and floor are a bit tired. We got some wrong information from two different people working the front desk and on our second night it was fairly noisy from adjoining rooms

Came in late evening, after notifying hotel my flight would come in late only to find that I had know room. The staff did find me a comparable hotel and arranged taxi back n forth however at 2am it is the last thing you wish to do. If you have a reservation. Honor the reservation.

To be honest. We stay in a hotel, just for the bed. As we are pretty much out from 10am to 10pm exploring the city & lucky we do. The compact room, is compact & should only be sold as single occupancy. Its not big enough for 2 people, plus luaggage. When we were in the room we had to manoeuvre our luaggage to move around the room, from the lack of floor space. The room was nice, bed comfy, shower good, just a really really small "compact" room.

Hotel amazing / Restaurant not....

Hotel was amazing, staff were amaxing, however the restaurant staff yesterday evening were not good. They took 50 minutes to bring our food, looked angry to be working and the burnette waitress rolled her eyes at my friend when she asked for fries. So 0* for the restaurant (the social), but 5* for hotel...
