Tv challenge to work for people not fully cognizant of technology. A noise , loud metallic woke me at 7:30. I called the front desk and the attendant reported they were “trying” to get it to stop. It did stop but ruined morning.

Comfortable Stay in Halifax

We only spent one night at the Lord Nelson Hotel, but it was exactly the experience we were looking for. The location is very central and walkable to the waterfront. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The toiletries provided in the room smelled great and the mini-fridge meant you could keep things cold if you needed to. The service was accommodating and I would stay here again when visiting Halifax.

The Lord Nelson is located in front of the Halifax Public Gardens. Very beautiful to walk through. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Halifax waterfront. The Hotel is very historical being over 100 years old. The public spaces and the restaurant were updated. Staff and housekeeping were excellent. Our room faced the Gardens and was very quiet. The rooms need updating. No plug in by each side of the bed for charging phones etc. The bedroom lights were not dimming lights for reading. No full length mirror in the room. Bathroom lighting was very dark, difficult to put on makeup or shave. Shower needs revamp as the fixtures are older and leaking. Good location for restaurant options and shopping.

This is a beautiful hotel, with very tastefully decorated rooms, lobby area and restaurant areas. We found the room on the 7th floor to be quiet with very effective blackout blinds and draperies. The air conditioner unit was a bit overly enthusiastic in its output but quiet about it. Security to the room was entirely lacking. Anyone could use the elevators to access any of the floors. Parking was very convenient to access from the street, with a bit of a curious maze to get from the underground parking to the lobby but they reward you at the check in desk with a nice chocolate when you're successful. The hotel was easily walkable to the waterfront area, citadel, gorgeous parks and dozens of restaurants.

Great hotel.

Comfortable room and seating area and big plus a kettle in the room. Not so good was the extremely small bathroom with no ventilation or space to put anything. Hotel staff were all amazing and friendly a good stay overall.
