Good points - close to station and transport links. 20-15 mins walk to main town centre. Room clean, warm, nicely decorated and very comfortable bed. Very quiet inside the hotel so not disturbed by other guests. Lovely powerful and hot shower with large cubicle and choice of rain shower or normal shower head. Friendly staff at checkin.
Could improve - a heated towel rail or small radiator in the bathroom as the bathroom got very cold and towel didn't dry well. The stairs to the first floor are a bit awkward shape as steps very narrow on the side with the hand rail. A second hand rail fitted to the wall on the side with the wider step would be beneficial for safety.
General - the hotel is split in two distinct buildings. My room was located in the second building so did not have a staffed presence at the door. On the first morning I went out around 6:45am and had to step over a rough sleeper. It's not the hotels fault and didn't disrupt my stay, but could intimidate some as it is likely to be where the entrance doesn't have a staff reception area.
Note, the single room (103) was very small! The whole room was about the width of a double bed and just a bit longer than the single bed (the bathroom was probably bigger!). It might not suit everyone, but it still had everything I needed and I had a comfortable stay.
I would stay here again.
