A beautiful old welcoming hotel in a relaxed quiet atmosphere. Good location close to Hastings. Good value for money.
Staff are friendly, polite and obliging.
Breakfast in a relaxing atmosphere overlooking the beauty of the grounds, was excellent. Great selection of food cooked to a high standard. The hotel deserves an excellent overall review but my only complaint is concerning the Kingsize bed that had an ill fitting bottom sheet that wasn’t fitted under the mattress . I can’t comment on an evening meal as I chose to not have dinner. Otherwise I would highly recommend this lovely hotel to travellers for a peaceful comfortable stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Great for a stopover
Beautiful old building and grounds. Very comfortable and good breakfast included. We were made very welcome and staff were very helpful, organising a light snack and taxis for us.
The decor was tired and could use a little updating in places. Would have liked a long mirror in our room but appreciate the ceiling height was low.
Very pleasant welcome from the staff as we arrived with quick checkin and everything ready for us to checkin. The room is a decent size and clean, generally comfortable. As it’s an older property you can hear creaking from other rooms but not too bad, needs a little bit of tlc around but again overall pretty good. Bar onsite with decent pricing. Breakfast also a good selection with friendly staff.
Overall we would recommend this hotel
A wonderful country property The Guestling Hall sits high on a hill with beautiful landscape views. Close to Hastings, yet far enough out in the countryside to breathe the fresh air.
The rooms have been updated and are comfortable.
It’s a wonderful place to hang out and they have a very good dining room open all day long. Chef Jamie has a delicious ever changing menu.
It’s a very well run hotel. Worth going to for a nice change of scenery.

Overall, all good, didn’t get to the bar or restaurant as both closed on a Monday which is not mentioned in hotels.com listing
I have been to this hotels
on many occasions and can highly recommend staying here. Very friendly and helpful staff that go the extra mile. Great value too.
We had a lovely stay with wonderful hosts. Room 2 was very good apart from a problem with mattress springs. We had an excellent breakfast but never took advantage of bar or restaurant as we had been out with relatives.
This was our second stay here and we definitely will be back again.
What a wonderful place. A really warm welcome with a pot of tea. Chatty, kind staff. Room 5 was gorgeous. Really comfy bed. Spotless room. Complimentary ciders. Great bath. Breakfast was really tasty amd plentiful. Couldnt fault it. Would go again. We dodnt want to leave!
I was on a short break away, walking in the area out of season in winter. I arrived at the hotel weary, and was greeted by staff with a really warm welcome. I sat down in the beatiful lobby area next to a roaring fire, with a drink before checking in.
The room was beatifully decorated with Thai style furniture and pictures, but was full of house period features & a modern bathroom room with roomy shower.
Comfy bed, tasty food for breakfast. What made it for me was the excellent staff, friendly & helpful, but not over bearing, really professional.
Our 3 stay at this charming hotel. It wont be our last. Staff are super friendly and make you feel at home. Lots of interesting facts about the owner and his trips abroad. An added bonus you can buy and drink their own brand of Cider and sparkling wine
Wonderful greeting even though we were an hour early. Place is a quirky delight with lots of character and exceptionally welcoming. Louise was a charming host and nothing was too much try. Shower in our room had a fault but we were offered the use of another room and this was also spotless. Lovely breakfast. Views far reaching and quiet for a good night’s sleep. Highly recommended will definitely return.
