It’s your own Private resort. We are upgrading the property. Just install pickleball court, Bucca court, 12 ft chess board, Basketball court, 20 ft x 50ft pool on order now. IF YOU NEED GETAWAY, now and enjoy the festivities at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee and the surrounding area. The home has 3 levels of spacious living space accommodating several families. 2 well-equipped kitchens, 1 kitchenette, 3 family rooms, one game room, 9 bedrooms with 12 beds, and 6 full bathrooms. The rear of the home has porches and decking on terrace and main level with beautiful mountain and lake views. Chatuge Lake levels are low from mid September to the first week of May, therefore not allowing for boat parking at the dock, however...kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boat may be rented.

Amenities and location were absolute highlights. Never a dull moment with our group of 19. The indoor pickleball and basketball court was a focal point. Kids also hosted game nights in the basement.

The deck next to the jacuzzi is broken and feels unsafe. The stairs leading down to the lake are loose and very unsafe. Inside the house, there is a strong moldy/musty smell. The pool table surface is damaged, and the electronic arcade game does not work. Many items in the backyard are also not usable.I hope the owner can repair and maintain the property better for future guests.

This s property has a lot of potential and the owner has a great vision for what the property could be. The current house use and grounds need a little TLC, but the additions make the property have amazing potential! It is secluded which is so nice. The sleeping arrangements need a little more clarity, but having multiple places to prepare meals is so nice for multiple families. Love Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge!!

Great vacation place for large crowd. Loved having the well equipped outdoor kitchen, the amazing covered pickleball court, lovely pool and waterfall. Having the outdoor tv along with karaoke was lots of fun! The two indoor kitchens made it possible to store food, drinks etc and cook inside if necessary for a large crowd. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. It was great to have the pontoon to enjoy the lake. Golf cart was such a help and definitely necessary. This quiet remote getaway was perfect for our crowd. David was easily available and super easy to work with.

Memorial Day Reunion

We had 26 people and had plenty of room. The house has 2 complete kitchens which was a plus. The pool and outdoor kitchen were not an easy walk very steep slope but thankfully the owner provided a golf cart to get down to the area. Has quite a bit of construction going on around the pool and outdoor kitchen area but it didn’t interfere much. All in all we had a great time.

Large Extended Family Vacation _PA, OH and TN

The overall description of the house was accurate. There was plenty of room for 15 adults and 3 children. The outdoor area, pool, pickleball court and kitchen was amazing! It was a wonderful area to hang out all day and night. We also rented the pontoon boat which provided hours of fun along with the paddle boards, water trampoline, paddle boat, kayak, etc. There are so many things to do at the property that you never need to leave the property. The huge porch overlooking the lake was an awesome spot for family gatherings and dinner. Dave, the owner, is nice and friendly and provided us with TP, paper towels, paper plates, plasticware, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which was nice for a rental property. The inside of the house needs a little bit of TLC, but the overall experience was excellent! We would definitely rent the property again! In 25 years of renting summer homes for an extended family vacation, this is the only property we all agreed is worth renting again!

Completely misleading description of property

The first major complaint is the bedrooms. It has five bedrooms. Two open air lofts with bunk beds jam packed in there and WORSE if you go into to the no door, open air loft; go through the bathroom you enter another room called a bedroom, jammed with bunk beds that has no windows and NO EXIT DOOR EXCEPT THROUGH THE BATHROOM AND THEN THROUGH THE OTHER OPEN AIR LOFT! This is called a closet. I highly wonder if this is even legal to have “bedrooms” without windows and the exit door is through a bathroom and then through another “bedroom”!. Some of my family members had to rent a room at the local Holiday Inn because of the horrible arrangement. The cleanliness of the property is less than one star. The pool was filthy so we didn’t use it. There were half submerged kayaks, furniture and trash all in the lake. The putting green was under repair and all the construction debris was partially blocking the path to the lake. The view was ruined because of the trash in the lake.

Wonderful property, nice house, great amenities, and spacious common areas. The property was not cleaned very well prior to our arrival which is why i didn't give it a full 5 stars. Since the propeety is on the older side, it would benefit from having a thorough, professional cleaning(inside and outside the property). For us to have been on vacation, we had to clean before enjoyment of most of the areas. The owner was nice and came out for any issues we had. It was definitely appreciated and overall we had a great stay.

Thanksgiving with family

The house worked out great for our multi generation family. The two kitchens were great and met our needs. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplaces. Dave was great to work with and was available to answer any questions. It was a very cold weekend but some of our family used the pickleball court. We would definitely stay again

Great Location & Getaway

Our annual work trip and this house was perfect! Each family had their own space and bathroom. Plenty of activities onsite and seating for everyone. This was our second time to the property and Dave has added to the property and making more improvements.

Excellence and Luxury

My wife and I stayed and as always Dave Norris was excellent!!! The property was awesome, and everything was as advertised. We cannot wait for all the new amenities; we will be booking this property again. We have stayed with Dave before at the Bellissimo Castle in Gainesville at his other VRBO property and Dave was the BEST!!!! Lake Chatuge was everything it was on the site. Despite other reviews. We Connot believe the poor review that was posted. We booked the house not the new venue. The pool was beautiful and the venue grounds with new amenities were awesome. Dave was the utmost professional!!!!

Owner was nice ,but place was a construction zone outside many of the amenities listed were not there or were unavailable for use . Owner had an issue with the pool and was there daily working on it , also the house was outdated and needed much work on the inside with plumbing issues and mold in the bathroom ceiling. The property was not ready for rental use

Anniversary Stay was meh....

I booked this location to celebrate my wedding anniversary with family and friends. One of the main reasons we were attracted to this property was for the outdoor activities. Dave warned that there was some construction going on, but it would not interfere with our stay. The grounds were unsightly and the putt-putt green was gone. There was a golf cart parked in front of the front door which paused a safety concern for me. The house was clean. Plenty of kitchenware. There was even some seasoning to use. There were two sets of washers and dryers. The home was stocked with coffee and tea. One large kitchen would have served us better than having 2, but the home is set up for multiple families. It's like a duplex that was combined. It was clean, but it could really use some updating. For the price, it was not luxury. There was like a mold stain on the shower curtain liner in the king room downstairs. The carpet could use replacing. The grounds were not well kept. The outdoor kitchen area was not appealing to use, the furniture was icky. There is a board loose by the patio door where the exercise equipment is that should be considered a safety hazard. The pictures do not show the tractor company's parking lot right on the other side of the lake. This home is really a 7 bedroom with 2 loft areas with beds which would be suitable for kids. I had to refund some of my guests because the lofts were not private. This was a private location, but needs updates.

Perfect property for our fall retreat.

The house and grounds were the perfect fit for our annual family and friends fall retreat. There was ample space for everyone and tons to do that fit the diversity of ages. The house was clean and the owner was very accommodating for anything we need pr wanted to do. The tweens in our group had a blast and never got bored, while the adults had various spaces to mingle and relax.

Birthday stay at Bend of the River Lodge

Fantastic! This is our second time at Nancy and her family’s home. It’s perfect for us. So many bedrooms. 2 full kitchens. Great outdoor area. On the lake. We had a blast. Nancy is so easy to work with and so thoughtful.
