when we arrived there was noone on the desk and it took us a long time to notice the small button to call for attention. The staff didnt really seem to know what he was doing and took ages to discover where he needed to point us for our room. We asked about a place to eat and he didnt seem to know any options apart from Mcdonalds and a harvester along the road. The room was immaculately clean and the towels and bedding were of a good quality. However this was during the heatwave and there was no temperature control in the room, we were baking, especially as the room had the sun streaming in. We had to open the windows but then the noise from the very busy and very near road was a problem and continued to be right through the night. Breakfast was in the reception area and this was, i think, the worst part of the lodge. We were sitting eating as people walked through to go in and out of outside, including several dogs. Apart from the first receptionist the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful
We had a family room for 2 adults and 1 child. The sofa bed wasnt prepared, so pulled out ourselves. When asked for bedding for my son was told they didnt have any as they were full! Had to use bottom sheet off the double bed so he had at least a blanket!
Good points:
It was convenient.
Reception on arrival was pleasant.
Large free car park.
Not good:
Mattress was too soft.
No air-conditioning nor fan on an extremely hot day. Two windows opened slightly only to let hot air in and noise from the sheep in the adjacent field and constant road noise all night.
The room and bathroom need upgrading and a deep-clean - it’s all very tired...
Breakfast was only just acceptable, nothing more.
Disappointed.
Disappointed I had to ask for a desk fan from reception as not provided in the room during this heatwave!
Other than that, it’s a short drive into Dunstable for evening food as I didn’t fancy the offerings in the vending machine.
Just returned from a good stay at Redwings Dunstable. We used the hotel as a base whilst attending the British GP. The hotel was clean and tidy and served as a good base. The staff were friendly and welcoming would definitely return and stay again

A good location. Price of the rooms inflated by the British GP weekend. TV in one of the rooms didn’t work and couldn’t be fixed. Bit of a bummer given Wimbledon and England Ladies football was on. Wouldn’t stay there again. MWR.
