This hotel is very close to everything to visit the mesquites and chopping around allot of restaurants around and the breakfast menu is very good I recommend 100%

Solid Stay at Senatus

We had a good stay at the Senatus hotel, very close (5-7 min walk) to the main historic sites like Haga Sophia, Blue Mosque, and the Topkapi palace. We felt welcomed and the staff were friendly and suggested tours to us when we asked. The breakfast varied a bit each day and was good. We had the deluxe room with balcony and enjoyed the view, with a small view of the haga Sophia over the side. The one downside of the room was that it smelled a bit funny and we aired it out at the end of the day, but I think it was because of the pipes and likely something not easily fixed. A few things to note: it was a bit loud at night with the bars and restaurants, so we were happy we had a sound machine. There is also a lot of hassling that the nearby restaurants do as you walk by, but luckily not the hotel restaurant. It is about a 20-25 min walk from the ferry and the Galata bridge, and if I had to go again I’d do a hotel a little more in between the main sites and the Galata bridge area. It is an uphill walk to the main areas and coming back from Galata area, so may be challenging for those with accessibility needs. I’d give this hotel an overall good rating, and I appreciate staying at smaller places that aren’t chains to support local. Its no frills and won’t suit fancier travelers, but for us semi-budget travelers it worked well.

The staff was very helpful. Unfortunately, the bed was not very comfortable and the prices of the nearby restaurants were quite high. The location is incredibly convenient.

The young man at the front desk was amazing. He scheduled a bosphorous tour for us and it was a great way to see some things that we wouldn’t have been able to do since we were only there for 2 days post cruise. The free breakfast was absolutely delicious with a variety of choices. The waiter at the restaurant was so sweet! I wish I would have gotten his name, however I do know his cats name is Sylvester. The bed was comfortable and so close to everything! 10 out of 10!!

Great location if you want to go to the big two mosques. Hotel is very lowkey and quiet. Guy at the front is nice. The double room is tiny but okay if you are going with a close friend or family member, someone you are comfortable with. Room was clean. Was a little depressing vibe because it seemed like we were the only ones there and lighting was dim.

We had an average experience at this hotel. It's in a central location which is helpful, but it's loud at night due to being on a strip with bars/cafes. Otherwise, the room was small but clean. Also, expect to be pursued aggressively by the surrounding businesses wanting you to come into their shops and cafes.

Great location

We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and cannot fault the service we have received. Location is great- close to many tourist attractions including the blue mosque and Sofia Hagia. On the down side, a new bar has opened up across the hotel and unfortunately they have music blaring until 3am! Breakfast was also basic compared to previous years.
