The staff were friendly which was the only real positive. The picture advertised was not what we experienced as we were put on a ground floor room facing the road. Peace & quiet this was not we many rowdy guests inebriated throughout the grounds. The room was basic with no air conditioning with the weather really warm so the ground floor windows needed to be left open to try and cool the room. This did not feel a secure place to stay with my wife & teenage daughter. The window in the shower room also needed to be opened to stop the smoke alarm going off which made both girls feel very uncomfortable that someone could see in whilst they were showering from the car park or road. There are better places to stay for families in the local area which we experienced and hence our 2* rating.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. One thing to note is the unit does not have central AC which works well if it's not a hot day. However when the temperature climbs up to 21C that humidifier was not sufficient. However they did a cooling humidifier.

Balcony can see partial seaview. The room is sunny. But, There is no air conditioning. If you booked in hot summer time, it might be quite hot in the room.

The staff was very helpfull especially the manager who was more than accomadating with our late arrival. The room was very clean and nicely laid out with everything supplied in a kitchenette. The close proximity to the water and town were very usefull.

We had a pleasant 2-night stay in Suite 1. Comfortable bed, very clean room and bathroom. This place is walking distance to the grocery store and a great restaurant called The Black Rabbit. It is so convenient and tasty we went back the second evening. We were given a 10% discount on the food for staying here. Very close drive to town too!

The property is conveniently located in central Kaikoura, walking distance to New World and various takeaway shops. A few minutes drive to WestEnd St with all major restaurants on it. Even though on SH1, it is very quiet, very clean and pleasant. Our room on the 1st floor was vary spacious, had a table for 2 and a separate computer desk and a little balcony looking at the mountains. Plenty of parking space. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.
