The exterior looked dated and the neighborhood is a little shabby but we loved our room. Very large, lots of light, great bathroom. The lobby and breakfast areas were old world charming and the breakfast was affordable and plentiful.

Stayed for 3 nights to attend the Christmas markets and see a few museums. Was easy to walk to these. Room was quite large for European standards. Breakfast was varied and quite filling. Will stay again when the need arises.

Do NOT stay here.

This hotel is located in a sketchy area, with an "adult entertainment club" across the street. I was very closely approached by one man for money and another man followed me into the hotel after obnoxiously whistling behind me. My towel was placed back on the rack after I had used it. This was really gross. Perhaps the most unprofessional thing was when the staff did NOT honour my request for a wake-up call TWICE. One day they phoned over 40 minutes later and on the day of my departure I could have missed my train since they NEVER CALLED. The woman with the blond hair never apologised about these errors and needs to work on her customer service skills. The young man with Syrian heritage was kind and professional. He is the only reason why I am not giving this hotel the lowest rating.

My train to berlin was cancelled and I needed a bed so I booked tryp at kassel.i had a nice greeting and a quick and easy check in.i had a beer and something to eat at the buffet which was very nice.my room was spacious,clean and comfy.the WiFi wasn't the best but overall stay was very pleasant. thank you

Seriously in need of updating

The room was small, dark, with a strong musty smell. It is really a single-bed room, where they convert the sitting thing into a second bed. The hotel belongs to a different time period, and unless you find it quaint, you will find it depressing.

I found a room available at the Wyndham when other lodgings fell through, and the night manager was kind enough to arrange for the second night as well. Overall, the service was genuinely friendly. The rooms were maybe more shabby than chic, and the room I was in faced the outdoor area of a bar, so somewhat noisy, but the art deco ground floor is a real jewel.

Our first visit to Kassel

Very friendly staff and a nice spacious hotel. Great facilities and very well priced. Neighbourhood appeared a little run down. However we had secure parking and were close to town for bars and restaurants. Perfect for our needs.
