This hotel is very well run but has some physical limitations as the rooms on the lower floors can have bad views (a construction site on one side and a parking lot on the other. The exception is the higher floors but they need to be facing away from the train station which can be easily heard otherwise. The staff is amazing and the buffet breakfast is spectacular! The lobby and public areas are Japanese chic and dramatic. I upgraded to a room on the 8th floor and it was an executive room so included lounge access. (Highly recommend doing this!) The location near Kyoto station is not pretty but it is very convenient for day trips to Nara (do this!) Osaka and the Shinkansen trains to Tokyo and beyond. Once I got the room upgraded, it was a perfect stay. I’d do it in advance next time and get the executive room with lounge access.

The location is great, the hotel is amazing. The room was spacious and the amenities were great. The breakfast spread was one of the best. The staff were helpful and everything was smooth. Definitely recommend!

Excellent stay….staff are super helpful and can communicate in English effectively. The hotel is close to bus/train/shinkansen stations. Shopping centre and many restaurants around the corner. Will stay again.

Hotel that needs done major renovation.

Room was extremely tiny and dated. It needs some renovation. The lobby looked grand and modern, which is a very big contrast to the room. The floor of the washroom was slanted dnd warble. When you walked inside, you have sea sick sensation. The sink was very low and you had to bend down to use. We went with another two parties and they had the same opinion.
