Very nice hotel with spacious rooms and well designed bathrooms. Soothing colours and decor. I liked the location as it was a short walk from many points of interest and a subway stop but outside of the tourist zone.

Cute little hotel. Very clean. Nice bathrooms. I LOVED the fact that there was onsite coin laundry. They also had a nice afternoon lounge with some drinks and snacks. Breakfast selection was limited, but freshly prepared.

I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough, it was fantastic!! I stayed with my 2 teens (we know they can be ahem a challenge to delight) and they are raving too! Loads of space, huge well appointed room and bathroom, fabulous lounge which we took full advantage of. Really walkable, delightful staff and breakfast to die for. We will be back for sure!!

Must stay hotel in Kyoto!

The General Kyoto Shijo is the best hotel! This is my second time staying there and it did not disappoint. It is very clean, the staff is friendly and it is close to Nishiki market and lots of other amazing sites in Kyoto.

Cute Boutique Hotel

We only stayed here for 1 night but it was a pleasure. The staff is so nice and wonderful. They had our room ready as soon as we got here well before check in time. They also honored our “VIP” status and gave us free breakfast for 2. Additionally, the lounge offers free snacks and beverages throughout the day, including alcohol. Overall, we loved it. My stay at the general kyoto was my favorite of my travels. The staff was incredibly accommodating, even with special requests. The hotel was very clean and offered many amenities, and it was very affordable. Cannot recommend enough!!
