Close to Train station

The positives: This hotel was an easy 4 min. walk to the train station. They had a lovely dining / common area that was open 24/7 and many guests brought take out food to eat there instead of going to restaruants. The bed was comfortable. The down side: The room and bathroom were small. ( the bathroom reminded me of the one on our motorhome). As there is no central air, we opened the windows at night, however, it was quite noisy. By night two, we learned to use ear plugs and the fan they provided in the room. Both helped.

The property was clean and adequate. Very basic but all we really needed. The highlight was the continental breakfast. It was outstanding with fresh fruit, croissants, meats, hard and softboiled eggs, yogurts with toppings. If you were going for a hike later, you could make yourself a sandwich froma all the wonderful breads, croissants, meats and cheeses. Coffee machine made amazing espresso and a variety of drinks. We would stay here again.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, although quite hot due to the weather and no AC. Despite being near a main road it was quiet, although deliveries to a nearby business was quite loud on a couple of mornings. The single room I had was a good size but the bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was amazing with a great continental selection. The staff at the hotel were extremely informative when I checked in and very friendly throughout my stay. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station and Old Town. There is also good public transport connections nearby.

This hotel is extremely overpriced considering there is no AC and no fridge in the room. I also did not like how the luggage area is entirely unsupervised and anyone can take any luggage. This is a basic service that should be provided. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly but it does not make uo for the lack in other areas

Nice hotel close to the train station, breakfast was above average, they have a cute dinning area that has supplies like glasses, silverware and access to tea/coffee/water if you wanted to buy meals outside the hotel! We were able to leave our luggage after checkout with no fees which was a bonus!

We loved this property. The room was small but more than adequate. It was clean and had all of the essentials. It was also in an ideal location for exploring. The staff were very helpful and friendly but the icing on the cake was the common area. We used it a couple of times to bring our own lunch back to eat on the balcony. And the breakfasts were beyond good. A wide range of fresh ingredients made the whole experience a delight. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

The location is about a block from the train station and close to old town, which is quite convenient. They also provide a lovely breakfast. But our beds were very uncomfortable, the room was hot and very loud as the open window was the only way to cool it, and that didn’t even work.

Nice hotel, great location.

Lose to the railway station & the ferry piers, 2 minutes walk from the Chapel Bridge & other central Luzern attractions. The room was a reasonable size, bed comfortable. Towels seemed to be changed daily which was, in my opinion, unnecessary. Breakfast was a decent spread & tea & coffee were available 24/7. There was no fridge in the room, but a communual fridge was available in the breakfast room. The hotel also operated an honesty box system for cold drinks from this fridge. No aircon, as is normal for Switzerland, it had been hot before we got to Luzern & the room was rather stuffy, but they did provide a fan to try & get the air moving. Our room was up half a flight of stairs from the lift, whcih was not ideal as we had large suutcases, but we coped.

Nice clean property BUT no A/C, so upper floors (floor 4 for us) do not cool off at night in summer months. We left the window fully open all night with little effect. No apparent ventilation system except windows. Was not worth $400 per night.

A bit Spartan

We happened to be there in 90° weather and this hotel, like most in this area, has no air conditioning. That was a bit rough. But we managed. The location of this hotel is its best feature. It was close to the train station and other places we needed to go, and there were shops and restaurants all around. Just literally across the street is the Rosengart gallery, where they have a lot of Picasso, Klee, Miro, Seurat, and other impressionist and other contemporary artists. They have what they call a lounge where they serve breakfast; it’s a very nice, appealing room, and the breakfast was very good. There was not much hot food but really nice fruits and vegetables, yogurt, spreads, etc. Some of the basics at this hotel were pretty minimal. The rooms are small, which is not surprising. The towels are about what you would expect in an American prison. Very thin and scratchy; we were given two in a room with two people. When you take 3 to 5 showers a day because of the heat, towels matter. No washcloths, you have to ask for those. There’s a shared refrigerator, and they say they have a shared microwave. They say they take it out of the kitchen and place it in a common area after breakfast. We had just an hour before we had to check out and my son needed that microwave, and it did not show up. There was a breakfast server who was very disapproving, but maybe didn’t have English to say why. Sometimes in Swiss hotels I don’t feel completely welcome. Europe is different.

It went to 80's in temp when we were there and so it was hot in the room during the day, they do provide fans but no AC, but overall it was good mainly because of their location.

Fabulous stay at this hotel. Just down the road from the train station. Central to restaurants bars shopping. Close to the lake. The hotel is great. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We got lots of recommendations from Natalia on reception. The bed was comfortable the room was perfect for our two night stay. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Loved our stay.
