The rooms are well appointed . We did not eat there . If you struggle with stairs there is NO LIFT . The least the hotel could do is put a note at their reception to ask for help with luggage . I’m not sure how many rooms are on the ground floor. Surely a lift could be installed in this spacious hotel .

Such a central location to everything in the village. Lovely room and enjoyed the outdoor area for evening drinks. Bed was super comfy!

Door lock not attatched properly and due to this was difficult to work. Windows rattled in the wind all night. Im not u fussy person but for the price i think deff one of the most overpriced for what you get in the Hanmer area. And i do stay in Hanmer at least 3 times a month for work so i have seen most motels and some holiday homes. Room was clean and tidy tho.

Room and beds were very nice. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed to House guests! and so we had to walk down the road to get dinner, not a biggie yet House guests should have preference. Staff friendly and great site.

NB: we ended up at Edit just as a major storm warning was issued. The whole town was battered and power was out for 2.5 days. Edit has a backup generator, which powered the restaurant, shared spaces, heating etc. We were well catered for and staff put in extra hours to keep us comfortable. Roads were closed so fresh staff couldnt get in or out. Edit Hanmer went above and beyond during difficult times.

An old fashioned hotel in a great position in the

The hotel is beautifully situated in the middle of the town in large grounds. Furnishings are old fashioned making the rooms feel rather dark. The hotel has a long history with interesting pictures on the walls illustrating its life as a post war hospital. We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and the continental breakfast was fine.

Travelling with a newborn had everything we needed. They had received our cot request and acknowledged at check-in, but wasn’t set up in the room, which is only a minor downside to what was overall a good experience. The breakfast is pancakes, pastries, fruit, cereal, juice, drinks and the price reflects the fact there’s no hot breakfast.
