10/10 Wonderful stay at Hotel California during our first visit to Malaga. The hotel is beautiful, quaint and welcoming. The rooms have been updated and our particular room was quiet. The breakfast each morning to start the day was absolutely amazing served by a very kind and helpful staff. 5-minute walk to the beach! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

This is a lovely comfortable hotel in a great location for walking to the beach, restaurants and the port. The breakfast is the best we have offered during all of our travels over 7 weeks in different cities in Spain! The staff members are friendly and always helpful. They take pride in their hotel. This is our second stay and we will definitely be back!

Quirky and in a great position, about 15 mins pleasant walk into the city. Room was quite small and basic with no view, but it was fine as we were out all three days. Breakfast was the highlight. No buffet, but the coffee and selection they bring you is fabulous. Would stay again.

Comfy, little spot

I wanted a hotel close to the beach and this was great, 2 block walk and you were there. I felt safe as a solo female traveler in and around the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was quiet and clean, my room was secure and there's a beautiful rooftop patio to enjoy with views of the water. The bus stop is right out side and you can get to most spots in Malaga. My only issue was the wifi was very spotty. It took awhile to make calls or search for things online with it constantly dropping offline. Overall I'd stay there again, thanks!

I’m so glad I found this wonderful little hotel which is both quirky in its decor but wonderfully modern in its fixtures and fittings. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. For us the location was perfect - just 100 metres from the beach and local bars and restaurants and yet the centre of Malaga is only a 15 minute walk away. Finally, the staff are welcoming, helpful and very friendly and we will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit Malaga.

The staff were friendly and helpful! The room and bed were comfortable. We especially enjoyed our little balcony! The breakfast was excellent and such a wonderful start to the day. So fresh and delicious!! The location of the hotel was perfect! A quick walk short walk to the beach and within walking distance to the downtown area. Restaurants were abundant nearby. Also, train and bus stations were within walking distance. Hotel California was a delightful experience and we plan to return!

I fell in love with this hotel! This was a great place to stay in Malaga. From the terrace at the top floor looking out to the ocean to the incredible service ! They did clean the room and bathroom every day which was really nice. The hotel is not even 5 minute walk to the beach and about 15 to 20 minute walk to the city center. There’s a market near to get some food and wine if interested. The staff was very accommodating and understanding. Definitely stay here if you have the chance

We had very comfortable rooms and really loved the rooftop terrace, which has views of the ocean. The breakfast was great. It is a short walk to the beach, but a longer walk to the main touristy shopping areas. We prefer to be a little out of the fray. It is on a bus line if you don’t feel like walking.

The hotel is a traditional type with nice clean rooms. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean. The hotel is a 5min walk from the beach and about 20mins into the historic centre.

Friendly staff and very clean room. 1 block from the beach and very walkable to the plaza about 15 min. There are several local hang outs nearby which we really enjoyed versus overcrowded venues in the historic center.

I checked out in the middle of the night because I was swarmed by biting ants. Plus, they say the have parking, but they actually only have a single, tiny, inaccessible spot in a ramp across the street for the entire hotel.

As a single traveller this worked perfectly for me. A lovely quiet area, apart from the traffic noise from the road, but not the hustle and hustle of the city. The roof top terrace is very comfortable and relaxing. Staff at reception are helpful and friendly. Easy to walk into the city each day. A couple of restaurants near by, one excellent one for healthy food KeyZen. Fridge in the room was very handy to keep fruit and yoghurt water etc. I will definitely stay again if in Málaga. Thank you

This is one of my all time favourite hotels, real character and exceptionally friendly staff and owners. It is like one big happy family. Wonderful view of the Sea from their upper deck and some rooms. Real attention to detail. The breakfast provided was wonderful, high quality and great selection. They were very helpful in helping us plan where to go and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. As The Eagles song says “You can check in any time but you can never leave”, indeed I hated to leave and wished we had stayed longer! Ian MacKenzie
