Great value hotel near airport

We were needing a hotel relatively close to the airport rather than paying airport hotel premium rates and this worked out well. I made a mistake with a non refundable booking and they were very understanding. Only issue was a very firm pillow and no other options, but to be fair I didn’t contact reception. Bar staff were friendly and a decent choice of drinks and food. An Uber cost us £19 in the morning for the airport run

Close to Manchester Airport

Only advantage is that its close to the airport but not meets expectation as hotel was not up to the mark on cleanliness. If the Britannia Team can work on the overall cleaniless and comfort of the rooms its a budget friendly and convenient place to stay near manchester airport.

Mediocre at best

I give it a three because that's about what it is. Average. It's super outdated. A little bit dingy. Not particularly clean or dirty. My biggest issue is that you call yourself an "airport hotel" but you're 15 minutes from the Airport and charge 10 pounds per passenger for a ride to the Airport! And airport hotel has a airport shuttle. So it's NOT conveniently located near the airport, nor is it well located near the city. Kind of in a useless no man's land. The beds were fine and the service was mediocre. I don't know what the standard is in the UK, but in every other hotel I've ever stayed in they come in and make your beds and tidy up a little if you stay more than one night. Not at Brittania. I thought that was strange. The receptionists were kina just meh. Not real friendly or unfriendly.

We stayed overnight for an early morning flight. The price was good. We had a beer and a burger in the cafe, the burger was great. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful especially the young woman who checked us in.

Stayed here many times hotel is ok although the nights I stayed there were no car parking due to upgrading and had to park in the street 5 minutes away with car not secure. They should have mentioned this when booking . Stuff weren’t bothered and just said park on the street. Not what you want on a rainy night .

Genuinely a horrible experience here, such a loud and and noisy hotel you could hear people banging doors all night Half the parking was blocked off so you were advised to park on the street - reception then thought it would be a good idea to knock me up at 4am whilst I’m 6 months pregnant, with no apology Will never stay at this hotel again.

I was a little intimidated staying at this hotel When I arrived the foyer was all men. People hanging around outside and they had security on the door I can only assume this hotel is housing immigrants and displaced no fixed address . If that’s the case they should be taking paying guests I don’t normally sleep with the light on but here I did . I was working at the local hospital and won’t stay here again .

Barely Passable

On arrival there was insufficient parking, despite there being two large car park areas that were fenced off. We had to park in a nearby residential area. The hotel itself is dated and could do with some TLC. In our bathroom, the towel rail was half hanging off the wall, the soap dispensers didn’t work despite being full and the taps had stickers saying non drinkable water, even though there was a kettle in the room, we couldn’t fill it. The door isn’t well sound insulated so we had to rely on other guests being considerately quiet. The bed was comfortable and the blackout curtains were very effective. We would say the hotel was passable, just and whilst we would stay there again, it would be far from our first choice.

I've stayed here before and it was good to see the refurbishment to common areas that had taken place since the last visit. Some work to be done however on condition and maintenance. My mattress protector was a bad fit (it and the sheet came off as I was pulling the duvet out to get into bed and it took me a while to sort it out!), mattress needed a "deep clean" on sides (top was clean or I'd have expected a room change) and there were some noticeable stains on walls and curtains. Refurbishment also needed to the basic fixtures (the bathroom door and curtain rail). But the rest of the facilities were good and comfortable and room overall is as expected given the price paid.

Great location

Hotel is well located with good public transport connection. Quick and efficient check in. Nice and friendly staff. Bit disappointed with me room though. Window was facing the ring road and with old type of glazing I had all the traffic in my room all night. Ear plugs is a must. Pleased with room and bathroom size and cleanliness.

Well worth the money go for it! Clean & warm

Booked this hotel short notice as we needed a hotel the night before a flight from Manchester airport wasn’t sure what we would get for £43 but it was great!! Easy to find, lovely staff, great room, clean, warm, very close to the airport, nice food on site, easily worth the money will definitely use this hotel again if flying from Manchester well worth the money!
