This is the first place we stayed when we first arrived in England, and what a wonderful way to kick off our trip. The room was beautiful, the staff was warm and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We plan on coming back again.
This bed is gorgeous and the room had a lovely sitting area directly over the entrance of the inn.
Fish & chips with mushy peas. Yummy!
The oldest part of the inn goes back to the time of the Domesday Book (1080’s)

Very tired, obviously cleaned,but black mould around bath, headboard plastic matetial worn right out on both sides where the head goes. Reception opens at 7am by the receptionist arriving at 7.15 with car music blaring and doors banging right outside room windows.

The staff here are an absolute dream. Nothing was an issue even though they had technical and delivery issues. The food was nice and the room very comfortable. Very quiet and easy to get around. Will definitely stay again.

Poor checking in service.

The stay was ok, my issue was check in. I had to wait 20 mins to be checked in, all while there was a man with a southern accent in the office behind reception on the phone, using very questionable language… f this and F ing that. Very unprofessional and disrespectful to people walking past me r like myself waiting at reception. That’s all I remember from my stay really. The food in the pub was nice and the lady on reception in the morning was super friendly.

I was allocated a very clean and well presented room on the ground floor with every amenity I could wish for.The bed was extremely comfortable enabling me to sleep well on both nights.The room rate was very reasonable for a hotel of this standard and I could not fault the variety of food on offer in the dining area.I will have no hesitation in booking again when next I am in the area.

Excellent one night stay

One night stay for work but what amazing service. Was going to be late checking in and close to kitchen closing so called ahead and ordered food for my arrival. This was no trouble and on arrival staff were expecting me, got me seated quickly and got my drinks and the food came out piping hot. Room was huge, lots of space, and immaculately clean. Bottled water and hot drinks were available in the room and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included in the room rate and everything on the menu was on offer as well as continental breakfast including cereals and pastries. A very short but enjoyable and comfortable stay. Every member of staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return next time I’m in the area.
