My room had not been cleaned properly, there was someone’s underwear left in the wardrobe & there was off milk in my fridge. I had to call 3 times to get that sorted.
There were mice in the lobby.
The free wine was cheap quality.
The room service i ordered was very cheap quality and not nice.
The sauna didn’t work and no lockable lockers in gym or sauna, no changing room in gym area.
The hotel was lovely, new and clean and the staff were very friendly. Excellent location and surroundings. Unfortunate though some services were not available and on the website stated otherwise. No door bell hoppers, no 24 hour front desk, bar was not open until late, and a fire evacuation at 2am with no fire brigade called or staff assisting and in attendance was very concerning!
We had another great stay at the Dorsett with one exception. We had to evacuate the building at 2.30am on the second night. We still don’t know the reason for it but it was not nice to be wakened like that. I know it is not entirely under the control of the hotel but it wasn’t a pleasant experience nonetheless.
The hotel is located in the central business district with access to the city tram close. The hotel is high tech and they do not tell you about any of it. We purchased breakfast then had a flight time change that made the second day unusable. We missed out on the full breakfast options the first morning because we did not notice the QR code sticker on the table top which allowed you to order eggs/omelettes the way you want them. The QR code is easy to miss and no one points it out. The coffee machines are also poor since they very slowly produce only a half cup of regular coffee. The hotel offered nothing such as a credit for the unused breakfast. As a Hotels.com VIP, a free bottle of wine was also to be provided, but was not until sometime in the morning of the second day after answering a Hotels.com checkin evaluation that we had not received it. The delivery happened when we were gone from 11am to 12:30am the following day on a tour, so we could no longer take advantage of the wine and simply returned the bottle. They also delivered the wine to the room when we had "do not disturb" turned on so they shoukdvnot have entered. So there were quite a few issues that were minor overall, but taken together detracted from our stay. Hotel staff were polite but offered nothing other than applogies to make things "right."
New-ish hotel in Melbourne in a great location in CBD. Easy walk to everywhere. Staff were all friendly and even gave me late check-out. Rooms were spacious with comfy bed
Nice stay during the tennis. Hotel is centrally locate and cllose to Southern Cross station. Rooms well equipped and clean, room was spacious as well. Buffet breakfast was average and no tea selection, barrista coffee an extra charge and no cold meat selection on the continental.
Staff went above and beyond during our stay. I needed a document printed from an email and Josh made it happen. Excellent facilities. This wasn’t the first time we’d stayed there and wont be the last
