Such an easy location to access In Melbourne. If your travelling by train, tram or car, the hotel is positioned amongst the heart of the city with short walks or tram ride all at its doorstep
Excellent housekeeping and modern, clean rooms and bathrooms. Limited amenities.
Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable.
Free buffet breakfast was not to my liking. Scrambled eggs were awful and put me off trying anything else at the buffet. Stayed three nights but only tried the breakfast once.
But the hotel is very generous to offer the amount of free breakfast food items to their guests.
Guest service was also nice and check-in and check-out was easy. But would not stay again due to the beds and pillows being so uncomfortable.
Our1st room airconditioner not working. 2nd room the phone didn't have a cable, not connected. This was advised to a staff member who stated will arrange to have this looked at. No one attended. I also had to make several trips to diinig area to collect dinner as i couldn't be contacted due to the phone not working. Very disappointed.

Great location and within five minutes walk of Southern Cross Station. Good value for money, quiet, clean and friendly staff. Easy to walk, get the tram or train into the Centre of town. About an 18 minute walk from Flinders Street Station. I would gladly stay at the hotel again.

Great location. Close to public transport and CBD. Showing signs of wear and tear.
I really enjoyed my stay for three nights. Breakfast was included in the room cost which was awesome. My room was clean and modern. The room was a little small and the bed a little hard and there were no wine glasses in the room. That is the only negative comment I have.
Staff were great. The location is fantastic. I recommend Holiday Inn Express and I would stay there again
Fine stay, room clean and tidy. Breakfast was nice but hot food mostly cold each morning.
Early check in request completely ignored which was disappointing, despite multiple staff telling me it would be ok, room wasn’t ready till just before 3pm.
I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, my experience was not as pleasant as I had hoped. The rooms are standard, which is fine, but there were a couple of significant issues that detracted from our stay. One major concern was the frosted glass bathroom walls. While they may look modern and save space, they do not offer any privacy if you are sharing the room with someone. We found ourselves having to shower with the bathroom lights off just to maintain some sort of privacy, which was an inconvenience. Additionally, the bathroom had an unpleasant odour, and it was clear that the shower drain needed some cleaning attention. These cleanliness issues further impacted our experience and made our stay less enjoyable. Overall, I would suggest considering other options if privacy and cleanliness are important to you during your hotel stay.
