We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The staff is top notch, very attentive, helpful and friendly. The only wrinkle was that my room key did not allow for access to the Terrace restaurant. Staff would have to allow me access. An adjustment has to be made to allow the wonderful bartenders a safer and comfortable way to go between the bar and terrace area. Overall we were very pleased with our choice for our trip to Mexico City.

The moment we arrived at the lobby there was no one to help with our luggage. I have to dragged all my bags inside. Chek in was at 3 pm. We arrived around 1 30pm and was told our room was not ready yet, that it will be ready at 3pm. We went to eat and came back around 4pm and still the room was not ready yet. They said that it will be ready at 4 45pm so we had to wait.

I was expecting better from this hotel. La cama no tenía cubre colchón y las cobijas eran muy viejas, lo cual me pareció poco higiénico. Además, el estado general de la habitación dejaba mucho que desear: parecía descuidada y no correspondía con lo que prometen en las fotos. Definitivamente no volvería, ni lo recomendaría.

Hotel Catedral was a great choice for our first time in Mexico city, its literally across the street from the center of the historic city, Metrorail is 2 blocks away and there is a ton of Muesums, restaurants and shops right there. Hotel is super clean , has 24 hour room service and staff is 5 Star. Great price/ value, Highly recommend Hotel Catedral.

Sehr unfreundliches Check-in. Das erhaltene Zimmer hat stark nach Putzmittel gerochen, war alt und das Fenster konnte nicht richtig geschlossen werden. Nach mehrmaligen kontaktieren der Reception wurde das Fenster nicht geflickt und wir mussten am Abend spät mit Kind in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen.

Location is great, very walkable. We walked a few nights in the area and it felt very safe. Hotel all throughout lobby area was dirty, bathrooms in the lobby area needed attention as well. We were there 6 nights and no one ever cleaned those areas. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful.

Loved the location, close to many attractions and within walking distance. The amenities and rooms were better than most hotels in the US. There was a rooftop bar, balcony, updated bedrooms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful always attentive to our needs, very professional. Dining options within the hotel pretty good. The drinks at the balcony bar were also very delicious. The check in and check out process extremely easy and effortless. Luggage storage also a great service to enjoy the city without worrying about carrying bags before or after checking in/out. The lobby area clean and bathrooms very updated and eco friendly. There’s a coffee/tea station and games for families to enjoy while waiting. Overall, great experience with plans to return in the near future.

The ‘key’ to a good stay…

We stayed here three nights (3 adults, one child). The hotel was FANTASTIC— great location, beautifully maintained, built physically over archeological sites (which you can see through a glass floor, as a museum runs beneath it) and the breakfast was TOP NOTCH (I will be daydreaming about the Coconut Panela cheese!). Don’t get me started about the bowls of guavas. 😍 However… we had issues with our hotel room key. Every. Single. Time. A run downstairs to breakfast? Key wouldn’t work. A swing by El Zocalo (a block away)? Key wouldn’t work. Staff appeared annoyed we had to ask for help every time. We ran out of towels and had to ask for some— we were given attitude when asked about wash cloths. I will, however, say that I appreciated we were asked about allergies (our kid has a food allergy). Although that really didn’t make a difference come breakfast time. But our child is great about advocating for herself. Despite issues with the keys and attitude, we’d still stay there. The location and modern aesthetic were top level.
