I've been staying at the Saint Kate for several years now for both work and travel with my husband to Milwaukee. Overall, I've had great experiences with the rooms and the second floor restaurant. This weekend was a busy holiday weekend and we were staying for a concert nearby. I ordered two cocktails from the bar and asked the bartender to keep the spirit choice in the price range of their menu options. He tried to upsell me to a top shelf bourbon, but I politely told him that I didn't want to spend that per drink. My husband came down from the room and I asked him to pay so I could go look at the art. He came back with our drinks and asked me if I had really ordered two drinks for $66. I had not. Then later that night (after our concert) I ordered a meatball sandwich and pasta salad from the Pizza Shop as they were the only option after 10. When I opened the bag in the room there were four meatballs in a plastic box. Talking to the restaurant they stated that they can't do sandwiches at that hour or add pasta salad. Would have been good to know. These are such small issues, but when I mentioned it to the Front Desk the next day that I was disappointed at the how both of these dining experiences were handled-I was placed on hold mid-call for 10 minutes and told there was nothing to be done. We'll, there is....I have other hotels to choose from and will do so. The night before we stayed at the Ironworks in Beloit. It was a night and day experience of feeling valued.

The room was beautiful, the bathroom was huge in the walk-in shower was so nice as it was all of the bath products that were in there and provided complementary. What I really loved was the old school record player with records and we played them all. Both bars were really fantastic with drinks and then the service was awesome. The live music was a really nice touch.
