The hotel is a pretty building with a nice internal courtyard, good atmosphere, excellent, secure parking, and an unbeatable downtown location. However I stayed in once of the "courtyard" rooms, which seem to be the lowest prices, and found it distinctly lacking in comfort. No fridge/microwave (which I wouldn't have expected in a hotel like this), no desk, no comfortable seating, very soft bed, and effectively no surfaces to put things. If you are spending time in one of these rooms, you're not likely to be very comfortable. (In fairness, perhaps the idea -- if you're spending time in the hotel -- is to use the courtyard. And yet . . . sometimes you want to be in your room.)

Room was sub par, no fridge no microwave on site at all, two towels given to a room for a four person stay, doors were loud when opening and shutting, TV was like a computer monitor, obvious leak issues that were covered with paint. The saving grace was the friendliness of the staff, pleasant people to work with.

Very convenient, walkable location to restaurants and downtown nightlife. “Picturesque “ historical hotel. Nice courtyard area. Rooms were comfortable but need a bit of trim and finish carpentry work. Spotty staff coverage at front desk and no answer for the phone number provided at the desk.

The room was very nice over looking the court yard! My only issue is check-in was a 3pm we arrive around 3:45pm and our room we reserved weeks ago was not ready. 10- 15 minute wait was still a little inconvenient after a 10 hour drive from southwest florida. We waited about 30 minutes while 2 other guests who came in after us got checked in. I dont understand why it was not cleaned if check in is at 3?

Room and bathroom were very clean, staff was extremely courteous. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because a guest in a room near ours closed doors VERY loudly until 1 or 2 am. I would have appreciated being told where and when the continental breakfast was served that is listed on the hotel in-room amenities guide. The hotel and grounds are really beautiful.

The room was clean. It's an historic hotel, so creaky. Beautiful courtyard, with fountain and gaslights. It's supposed to be haunted, but we saw nothing spooky. Staff was polite and informative, but were not at the desk all the time. No coffee in the morning. Old school! But comfortable stay.

Absolutely loved this hotel! It’s a cool historic building and has been a family-owned hotel since the 60s, which I didn’t know prior to booking but really appreciate. There’s a free open parking lot adjacent to the building, which is so convenient and unusual these days. Loved sitting in the lovely courtyard and meeting other travelers. The bed was very comfy and room was nice and clean. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a mini fridge (and ideally a microwave as well) in each room. I had to throw away some leftovers because there was nowhere to store them. Regardless, I enjoyed my stay and would 100% return
