Very nice property. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor overlooking the plaza and La Baie Cmpagnie. On floor 5 we had an outside deck (apparently the only floor with decks. Staff were courteous and helpful. Access with ease to Eaton and Place Ville Marie for meals and shopping. 15minute walk to Vieux Montreal. 4 minute walk to Gary Central. Great city!!

Great hotel, nice bar lounge. We didn’t eat there but the food looked good. We had drinks at the bar, very nice! Room was clean and spacious. The bed was surprisingly very comfortable, better than other hotels.

Room was incredibly noisy due to demonstration and proximity to noisy street and when asked for a diff room they said they didn’t have the “same category” room available so would need to charge me $100 extra ! I went to look at room. It’s was maybe a TINY bit larger but not really noticeable and there was no “garden view”. When I queried that point they said there is a tiny green patch in the area, but admitted that this was not visible from the room. Offered to discount down to $70 but still ridiculous. It was 5:30pm when we got there(room was not ready at 4 like it was supposed to be) and they said they still might be able to sell the room for that night for more $$ so could not do complementary. Additionally - the 4 “panels” of black out blinds did nothing to block the sun. What a useless design/decor.

Rooms need upgrading. Room service was expensive but food was undercooked. Staff were wonderful and the location is fantastic. Lots of shouting on our floor including an argument in the room adjacent before 8am. View was facing an office building so we had to keep the curtains closed. Shower door didn’t close properly and the privacy screen between the beds and shower didn’t stay closed properly.

Birks is an incredible hotel in the middle of Montreal. The hotel is elegant and quiet, and you are within walking distance to so much. The staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a hotel downtown.
