Great place to stay!

The room and hotel were all very clean! The staff were so friendly! We would love to stay here again. The location is excellent, as well. It is centrally located to tons of places to eat.

The property was clean, quiet and breakfast was nice. However, one of the major factors in picking this location was its advertisement of parking. After a 7 hour ride, we learned that the parking was off-site, not owned by the hotel, and most importantly, incredibly limited. There were maybe 20 spots available, if that, and most were reserved. Originally, we wanted to have parking on the hotel premises because it was our first time coming to Montreal. After arriving, it became apparent that some of the streets near by the hotel are a bit dodgy (homelessness, graffiti, condemned buildings). Unfortunately, we ended up driving around for an hour and a half before finding parking. Many other guests seemed to be in the same situation. The hotel staff, while nice, were unhelpful. They told us to go to the same parking garages we had already tried (also full or completely closed and kind of shady). Ultimately, we found parking, but in a garage we were worried about leaving our car in. Several of the reviews mentioned their cars being vandalized, tires slashed, car towed. It was very anxiety producing so we had to make a point to go out of our way to check on the car every day. The rest of our stay was fine, but the beginning of our trip left a bad taste. Really wish the hotel was transparent in their parking practices. Likewise, the ceiling had water damage and there were often homeless people outside the hotel. Definitely not something we’d voluntarily repeat.

The check in process was not efficient. I have worked in hotels and know how check-in's go and room availability. It seemed as though the front desk team, with the exception of one gentleman, was very uneducated in the process as well as the neighborhood; unable to give recommendations. The elevators were so slow and outdated that it made traveling even in the hotel difficult. The outlets in the room were loose, there was a weird smell and there wasn't even a proper lock for the door. There is a missing part of the deadlock so security felt odd... I would not return.

Loved this place. Having a kitchen in the room was awesome. Clean and great location. Staff was friendly and will definitely stay here again. Walking distance to McGill University, which is why we were there.
