Home away from home

We had a weeklong stay at this hotel during a busy music festival weekend. I loved the close proximity of this hotel to grocery stores, the McGill metro station, and downtown area, and it felt like an overall safe area. Breakfast options were simple but fine (no hot food other than a toaster for bread and coffee), though the dining area got very crowded closer to the end of the breakfast time range. I loved having a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. This hotel felt like home away from home!

l'Appartement, for under $200 CNDN before taxes in mid summer was wonderful value. Great location, exceptional breakfast included, rooftop (enclosed) swimming pool and outdoor patio facing Mount Royal unique assets of this charming hotel. Equipped with kitchenette and a nice balcony, these suites have much to offer the visitor to Montreal.

Nicely maintained property. Parking was a hassle and even the staff couldn’t tell you where to park and said not to trust the signs. Great room, nice selection for breakfast which was in its own separate room. On a main road. Only gripe was the tub didn’t drain so I was standing in water up to my calves during my shower. Gym equipment was faulty as well.

We had a mixed experience during our stay. Prior to arriving, we called to ask about parking but were not informed that it was first-come, first-served—which made things tricky, especially since we were traveling with an 8-month-old and a 4-year-old. We had requested a crib and were told it would be provided, but what we received was a pack-and-play. Also, we arrived at 4:15 pm (check-in time is 4), but only one of our two rooms was ready—the second one wasn’t available until 5:30 pm. Not a huge deal, but still inconvenient. The ceiling fan in one of the rooms was shaking and making noise. When maintenance came, we were advised not to use it, which wasn’t ideal. We ordered extra fans and one each was provided for each rooms promptly. Overall, I’ve stayed in both budget-friendly and high-end hotels, and I’d say this place offers good value for money considering the location. That said, service and basic communication could really use some improvement. Breakfast was decent. I’m sharing this so others can plan accordingly.

I arrived VERY early and the staff were very nice and accommodating in checking me in early (obv this won't be possible for everyone depending on room availability). The accom was close (walkable) to areas of interest and reasonably priced. I'd stay there again. The breakfast was fairly plain, as mentioned in other reviews, but from staying at other hotels in Montreal it seemed fairly standard.

The hotel is located near old Montreal downtown. The rooms are dated and require renovation. Our rooms AC was in the living room and not cooling enough to reach the bedroom so the hotel provided us with a table fan for air circulation. Parking fee is 25 dollars per day. Over all 3/5
