I booked back in November 2024. Paid over premium price of $500 per night (2 nights). On arrival, one lift was having maintenance, leaving one lift operational. Not ideal for 15 floor hotel. All staff said on our arrival was 'its temporary'. This was not good enough. Works, such as drills and other tools, started at 9am which was quite annoying after our night out. The pool was also having maintenance, which was very inconvenient as this was a deciding factor for picking the hotel because it had a pool. The room itself was a nice size and clean. Shower had low pressure and just dribbled water. It took 3 minutes to wash the shampoo out of my short hair. Fridge was noisy. Balcony door wasn't sealed, so noise from streets echoed in, as did cigarette smoke. Main door had a gap of approx. 1.5" under it, therefore all light and noise from hallway came in. This included guests across hallway stamming their door at least 5 times within 10 mins at 8am. So, how was our stay? The hotel was in a great location, was clean and staff were friendly. The actual reason for our stay was shattered by maintenance, noise and inconvience. Very unhappy about the $1000 cost of such a terrible experience. We will NOT stay here again nor recommend this property to anyone who asks.

Game Set Match

A perfect place to stay in Melbourne and within walking distance to the Aus Open. Great, friendly service from all the hotel team we encountered. Loads of great eating places nearby too! Paid valet parking right next door looked after our car which was not needed as everything is within walking distance … or catch a tram/bus if you need to go out further afield. Would definitely recommend staying at Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne.

I can't fault my stay here. The location was perfect for my needs. Shipping and dining options were plenty. As for the hotel itself, the staff were incredible, the room immaculate and the bed so comfy I wish I had a late check-out because I didn't want to get up. I can't wait for my next stay here

A very nice hotel located near Chinatown. The room was beautiful and clean. Sections are under renovation, but it's not a huge deal. The staff was super helpful and recommended a nearby doctor when I got sick.

A forgettable experience

Lengthy check in and check out , primary lifts not working upgrading ?had to walk through fire doors and fire corridors to access alternate lifts. Reaching floor again needed to go through fire door into another area to reach my room . Carpet outside room had a foul smell ,room was very basic . No air conditioning in bar area only fans .
