We stayed at maison st Charles from April 25th to April 28th. I do want to thank staff for being accommodating and checking us in right when we arrived at the hotel. However, we had to request clean towels multiple times and our room Was not cleaned during our stay. Additionally, there was not enough shampoo and shower gel for three guests. The shower drain was slow. The front desk night crew was unfriendly ant times and didn't care to help. We had to request to change our room because there was a dead cockroach.

There should be an elevator for the level the room was on . There was hair in the bath towels and a roach in the living area with large un sweeped areas under the sofa. Very stuffy old and not worth the cost.

Overall, the hotel was good. However, the staff was quite rude at times and I had several incidents that inconvenienced me. After checking in, I saw that I was given the wrong room type. I informed the staff and I was told that I had to keep that room because they didn’t have any queen bed rooms left. They called me 15 mins later and was asked if I still wanted to switch rooms. After walking to the front lobby to get new keys, I walked to the new room only to discover that it was the wrong room type again. I called the front and they sent someone to my room with keys for a 3rd room. The 3rd room was the correct room type. My iron was removed from my room and when I called to inform the staff, I was rushed off the phone and didn’t get an apology. I had to wait 20 mins to get a new iron which inconvenienced me even more.

To the ownership/management…

1-bathroom floors were not cleaned—I was there five nights. 2-I had to ask the office for towels or soap on several days. 3-The water does not go to the shower head completely when pulling the lever. Half of the water stays below. 4-I think the showers should have grab-bars installed—especially for us older folks. This could become a liability issue with the hotel. 5-The television remote was not working properly or maybe the hotel doesn’t provide the “guide” on the remote or any other feature on it-except volume and going from channel to channel a click at a time are the only two things working! THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME I STAYED AT MAISON EVER SINCE PRYTANIA PARK HOTEL CLOSED WHERE I STAYED FOR FIFTEEN YEARS. I’m a frequent visitor to New Orleans—at least three or four times per year. I would like to continue staying at MAISON ST. Charles. I like the area and as I mentioned I stayed at Prytania Park for many years. Clearing up the above problems would certainly keep me returning. Good location, dirty hotel room.

The hotel is average, as expected. The staff was mostly very friendly. The hotel room was dirty. The floors were not cleaned from the last visitor and were never even swept the entire stay. The towels were not replaced once. The shower was not cleaned once. They took the soap from the counter but did not replace. I had to go ask for toilet paper at 10:30pm because no additional toilet paper was replaced the entire stay - and the staff seemed put out by this request. It was clear that the staff came in, made the bed, and left.

I had high hopes from going through the raying system but my room's door had cracks in it; the AC unit was hidden under a desk; the room looked like it had recently been renonvated but not well; and it was not as clean as I hoped.
