Good

Bit disappointed.
Good location, rooms ok but chose time to stay when they had a wedding party and a football club do. This mean't that I had a very noisy night.
Food basic and lacks finesse.
Guinness at bar was awesome though.
Staff were too busy to care about a single traveller under the circumstances.
Booked a suite for a two night stay to visit family. On arrival we were informed that there were 2 weddings and a football party over the coming weekend.
The patio of the ground floor room was right next to the outdoor wedding marquee. Couldn't sit outside due to noise and people everywhere.
Our room had broken lamp, broken dangerous chair, usb box that doesn't work. And a terribly stained sofa that we didn't want to sit on it
Then at nighttime it was "party central" as all the wedding guests were laughing and shouting, as wedding guests do and in and out of rooms.
This is a charming independent hotel in a convenient location for Norwich centre. As with all hotels of its ilk it does not have the funding provided by the conglomerates but the plus side is its individuality and character. The staff were really good

Tired rooms, and restaurant service very slow
Very clean and reception staff and chambermaids were excellent
A lovely free upgrade. Suites could have done with some new curtains but apart from that was a lovely surprise. Comfortable, roomie. Perfect location, good parking.
Old hotel which needs attention to repairs, modernisation and cleaning. Simple things like wiping skirting boards, cleaning windows & removing cobwebs could be done quickly. Shower dribbled. However food was good.
Great steak, lovely staff but inconsiderate guests
We couldn't fault the receptionist when we arrived. Absolutely amazing and so friendly. Infact, all staff were friendly and helpful.
The food was faultless and the steak was cooked perfectly (medium/rare).
We stayed in the apartments separate to the hotel. The room was spacious. However, when we arrived back at our apartment late last night, our block stunk of weed and it was all in our apartment. One of the apartments on the bottom floor had been smoking weed and stunk the communal area along with our apartment out. It wasn't appropriate to remain in our accommodation. The staff were amazing and moved us immediately as they came to the apartment block and could smell it before opening the communal door. We were moved into the main hotel, which was really appreciated.
Although this happened, it would not put us off going back again to stay as the staff were apologetic and rectified the issue immediately so we could sleep in a room which was free of "weed smoke".
Lady on the reception very friendly and helpful. Breakfast substantial, but little choice other than full English, as would have appreciated 'extra's' such as cereals and toast & marmalade. Plenty of parking, but very limited if an event is on, as fills up. Creaky floorboards, but it is an old building!
We had a mid-week stay. Hotel staff were very attentive, friendly and efficient. We booked on room & breakfast basis but added evening meals later. The food was very good, well presented and good sized portions.
The room, while a little dated, was clean and had all that we needed comfort wise.
