Room could have been cleaned to a higher standard, dust behind the tv and in various places. bathroom had mould in the shower and sealant needs replacing in a number of areas. Constant foghorn type noise emanating from the ground floor of Oakham block.

We were only there for one night but this was a great base for visiting the area. The room was clean and comfortable; the bathroom was very modern and the towels were large and soft. There was a kettle and a coffeemaker in the room with a good supply of teabags, etc. Breakfast was very good with a wide range of food available. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean, comfortable and great location

Very well presented hotel with clear evidence of recent refurbishment. Clean and comfortable. Great location with easy access to the water. Short drive to Oakham for shopping and refreshments.

Lovely hotel eat somewhere else

Beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds. Room was lovely had a king bed but was two singles put together with separate duvets and sheets which was a little strange. Don’t eat at the restaurant really slow, things missing from our food, hugely overpriced and not cooked well.

Beautiful hotel in amazing surroundings next to Rutland water. Food was amazing and the staff friendly and professional. Beds comfy and room was superb.

We had a few issues which we raised with the management at both the hotel reception and the restaurant. Our advise would be not to book a cosy room for two people as ours was very small and dark and really only suitable for one. We also thought the restaurant food was overpriced for the quality. One thing very much in the hotel's favour is the location as it is in the most beautiful setting so worth staying for that alone.

Disappointing. I believed country house, dining, sleeping, lounge facility. Everything separate, steep steps. Parking not defined well enough. Restaurant not 4 star. Whole experience is strange. More a resort, lodges etc. beautiful scenery. Necessary to walk outside for lounge, restaurant etc.

Wonderful.

Beautiful location, amazing hotel, Superb food. Breakfast especially was 10 out of 10. All staff were friendly and polite. Would love to return for another visit, highly recommended.
