Three day stay in Oslo

This hotel is in an ideal location, right between the train station and the gorgeous opera house. It’s a large hotel but it’s well run, with a good breakfast service and fast elevators, and friendly cleaning staff. It was a great choice for us.

Nice hotel good vicinity

Good stay apart from the construction noise a on the first day. Felt like the noise was in our room. 2nd day Fire alarm went off twice in a couple of hours in the afternoon. Good breakfast. Very close to the railway station plenty of food options there. Short walk to the Opera house where you can walk on the roof.

My partner’s phone was stolen off our breakfast table in the hotel restaurant, they checked the video footage and said it was not a guest or staff, but we are not sure how true this is. Had to report it to the police ourselves at the police station and wasted a day dealing with this when we had flown half way round the world to visit Oslo. Reported maintenance issue of shower head leaking and it didn’t get resolved. Cleaner took a glass from our we had brought with us and we didn’t get it back before we checked out even though we contacted house keeping the day before. Next to the train station so great for that but obviously lots of randoms around and anyone can come in and cause issues. Check in and check out was easy. Some staff showed care which is why we didn’t give 1 star.

Staff wasn’t very friendly especially housekeeping. Angry they couldn’t clean room at very early part of day. Room on 9th floor. Room very stuffy and hot (no A/C). They use halogen lighting so bulbs give off horrible heat. I had to open window for air but street noise was horrible.

Loved the fresh and modern style of hotel, friendly staff, standard classic rooms with lovely ambience and generous and delicious breakfast buffet w great coffee. Vicinity and easy ramp access to Oslo Grand Central station was a big drawcard as well as launching place for sightseeing on foot or with Hop on Hop off bus., Would stay again!.
