We we travelled with our daughter and had two rooms at the W in Philadelphia. They were not connecting rooms. The first day there we were waiting for our daughter to come meet us at our room across the hall. We got a frantic text from her because she was locked in her hotel room and could not get out. I went to call the front desk from our room telephone and it was not all connected. I called from my cell phone and the call was disconnected instead of being transferred over. I had to take the elevator down to the front desk to get help. Luckily the staff was good to work with and got her out. But they did mention that this had happened with this room before! In a fire or any kind of emergency in the hotel my daughter would have died. Absolutely unacceptable!
As for the hotel, the bar was extremely loud at night, and set up for both people staying in the hotel and people coming in from outside. The rooms look wonderful, but were very dark even with all the lights turned on. The bad was low and soft. There didn’t seem to be a way to turn the lights on in the bathroom without turning them on in the main room, so it was pretty impossible for one person to sleep in while the other showed. Also, the shower did not have a door, which I don’t mind as long as the water stays in the shower area. But water splashed out onto the bathroom floor with each shower.
