My family has been staycationing at Talking stick for years. I made a reservation over a month in advance for my son’s 21st bday. I was checked in by a professional kind girl but as soon as we set off to find our room, men approached from security and told my son who’s biracial that he set off a firearms censor. We had nothing like that .They told me we needed to go to a back room to be searched. We complied as we are law abiding citizens. I expressed my concern that I felt my son was being profiled. They made us put our luggage down and empty the contents. My son had an Xbox, controller and laptop. They said it must have been the laptop. I am sure they don’t do this to every business man who checks in with a laptop. Further security said, “We have the male” over his radio. After this invasive search I asked them if they were going to offer us a drink or meal for our time and embarrassment, the casino manager laughed mockingly and said, Why would we do that”? I asked to be refunded as I’ve never felt so disrespected or violated and sad that my son had to experience racism on his birthday. It left us with no time to make new plans. My sister called the next day to cancel future reservations because her nephew had been treated this way. They denied it and hung up on her too. When I asked the manager for the rude security guys name he told me he didn’t know his own employees name. Rude and unprofessional. I would NOT recommend!

The pools were great and the DJ played great music, the servers were also quick to help and get our orders. The staff inside the complex also were friendly and wanted to connect
