Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Truly a disappointment. I have extremely measured expectations when staying at 2 star properties, but I do expect them to be clean and at least moderately competent at hosting guests.
I don't like to blame staff because it's typically a management issue, but most of the staff I was forced into interactions with were visibly angry to have to do the barest of minimums. Arguing with one another while at the check-in, being a bit short with every guest that was waiting (only one of which probably earned it).
The room was musty, water stains all over the walls, the AC unit would not turn off or up, and I was genuinely unsure that sleeping in the bed was a sound decision; I opted to sleep on top of the comforter and use the blanket and pillow I brought with me. I chanced a shower in the morning and was met with a trickle of hot water (it was hot though, so that's part of the two stars I left).
I'm sure the staff is not well paid and like not treated as well as they should be, but this was really something else. I'd really never come back this location, and that's atypical. At about $100/night on a weeknight, in the middle of nothing, this level of nonsense is just not acceptable.
