Older place. Well kept. Room was clean. Bed accommodating. Our only complaint were with the window blinds. They did not block out the exterior lighting and the room was never dark.

At this incredibly depressing motel on an apocalyptic strip somewhere between Pittsburgh and the end of all things, we were greeted by a cigarette-reeking geezer who joshed us relentlessly in what he obviously thought was a friendly way but was supremely annoying. Our breakfast alternatives were Denny’s or a local grill that looked so depressing from the outside we didn’t even park. I never actually believed in Purgatory before spending a night at the Jefferson Hills Motel, but I have been converted.
