the beach was beautiful but the seagrass was horrible. It is not the properties fault and they were trying their best to clean it up. the hotel was very clean and the staff was great, always smiling. the downfall is all the walking! everything is far to walk and no golf carts or other transportation to help. If you are in great shape or younger would not be as much as an issue.

The rooms are very dark and outdated. When making restaurant reservations, the policy is strict- they cancel your booking if you’re more than 10 minutes late, yet they often make you wait over 15 minutes to be seated. The buffet is extremely repetitive, serving the exact same dishes every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The beach is covered in seaweed, making it unpleasant to enjoy. Bell service is also frustratingly slow—our bags took over an hour to be picked up when we were checking out. This wouldn’t normally be a big issue, but we were in Building 6, which is quite far from the main reception. Calling the front desk was equally disappointing. They repeatedly told us someone was right outside our door, which clearly wasn’t true, causing us to run late for our airport transfer. On top of that, the staff asked us to leave our room from 5:30 to 6:30 pm so they could decorate it. Nothing happened. The next night, they made the same request and again failed to show up. It was incredibly frustrating to be inconvenienced for no reason. Overall, the resort felt very disorganized and poorly managed.

I had a wonderful stay at this resort! Everything was so clean and well maintained, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious—every meal was a treat. The staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. We were lucky to have the best room, complete with our own private pool on the balcony—it was pure luxury! I especially loved being surrounded by nature. It created such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. We left feeling super relaxed and refreshed. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing gateway.

My recent stay at Catalonia Maroma was absolutely fantastic! The entertainment crew was incredible—energetic, engaging, and always with a smile, organizing fun activities and great evening shows. The beach was simply excellent: pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters perfect for relaxing. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. And the food was delicious, with a vast array of fresh and flavorful options at every meal. This all-inclusive hotel truly exceeded our expectations, offering a memorable and relaxing vacation. We can't wait to return!

Careful. The smell at the buffet place is very strong and not pleasant at all. They don’t have enough staff. For the price you can get something a lot better. . At swimming pool and beach you have to way a long time y you want for some one to bring your drinks. DONT GO THERE ..

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at the hotel. We arrived early and we were able to enjoy the amenities while we waited for our room to be ready. After we had our room number, we were able to make reservations for the restaurants for dinner for the nights we were there. We enjoyed our experience at all the restaurants. We went to the buffet for breakfast. We enjoyed the different lunch options around the pool. We spent most mornings at the pool and then enjoyed the afternoons at the beach. The beach had lots of sea grass on some days but it had cleared out on the last day. The entertainment staff had activities all day that were entertaining. They didn't seem to be fluent in English so there was some language barriers with some of them. The pool was great. Large with lots of different areas to enjoy.

Great place for vacation especially if you have little kids. Loved the beach area with the palm trees and soft sand. They have buffet and restaurants for dinner and grill and pancakes place for lunch close to the beach. Food was delicious with decent variety. The pool was very clean with swim up bar and nice area for little ones. The walkway is very nice because the trees are providing the shade which is protecting us from sun and you can enjoy seeing coatis playing, looking for food or sleeping on the trees. The room was cleaned every day with towels replaced. Special thank to the cleaning lady Maricela who has been doing the extra step when making our bed and shaping the bedding in the cute way and decorating it with fresh flowers and bonbons. Very pleased with her work as it made me smile and welcomed every time. Overall staff were very helpful and nice people. Will probably come back with my husband next time. Definitely recommend.
