This hotel is one of the better ones I have stayed in, in Mexico. I booked with Expedia, which I have done many times before, I was warmly welcomed into this large hotel complex although there was a bit of a wait to check in. Once checked in the concierge team whisked me off to my room which was very clean and tidy robes and slippers ready to wear. The hotel has an app which is simple to use an d book reservations in one of the 5 restaurants or there is the main buffet restaurant all open till 9/10 at night and then a taco bar which serves food and drink all the way through the night as well. If you are considering this complex as a family resort you should it has a main pool area, water park and 2 quiet pool areas for adults only. All the team were lovely and would do anything for you, this is a little gem in the jungle well worth a visit

The restaurant had to have reservations, whe we arrived we were given the wrong brochure. The brochure that was given to us was for the location in Cancun. So we were unable to mar reservations for any of the good restaurants! We found out from other people who were staying there, that you had to make reservations after midnight and there were a few open reservations. But the 2 restaurants we wanted to eat at, were all booked up. So we NEVER got to eat at either one. So we basically ate at the same3 restaurants the whole time we were there. We stayed 7 days and was hoping to eat at all 7 restaurants, but that wasn’t the case. It was almost like people made their reservations before they even arrived! It was very over crowded , with lots of kids everywhere! Said it was an adults only resort! Ya that wasn’t true! There was 1 pool and a separate part on the beach that were adults only!! We didn’t want to see or hear any kids on our stay and that wasn’t the case either!! I wouldn’t ever stay at this resort or any of their other locations ever again!! This was the worst stay we have ever been to!!!

This site does not allow enough characters to give an complete review. Within 2 days we wanted to leave but with it being New Year everything else was booked. From checkin it was clear we made the wrong choice. Our toilet was clogged on arrival. After calling twice and waiting hours, someone finally came left plunger at the door and walked away. Resort is beautiful, and the wild life especially the spider monkeys is the only pros. Everything else was a con. Food was often cold or lukewarm, even when made to order. Staff seemed uninterested, and we witnessed a server being rude and mocking a guest. Several areas smelled like sewage, which was unpleasant due to the open-air layout. We paid extra to stay over New Year but the festivities required additional fees, leaving the event mostly empty. Restaurant reservations were confusing and inconsistent. On New Year Eve, even the buffet required reservations, which no one told us. My wife skipped lunch and had nowhere to eat and room service was elite members only we were later told despite being told otherwise. At the taco restaurant my wife ordered cheese pizza. After 45 minutes, ham pizza arrived and we were told to “just take it.” Hot water was inconsistent, the room had only one small trash can, beach towels were hard to get, and WiFi non existent making using their app impossible. We paid for adults-only, yet kids were everywhere. The adult pool had no swim-up bar and no atmosphere. Prior negative reviews were all spot on.

Our stay at Sandos Cancún was truly a wonderful and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. We absolutely loved spending time on the beautiful beaches — they were clean, well maintained, and had plenty of relaxing spaces along with exciting water activities. Our first snorkeling experience was unforgettable and something we will cherish forever. One of the highlights of our stay was learning about the Mayan traditions through live performances and exploring the temples within the property. A special thank you to Francisca for introducing us to this beautiful culture and making the experience so meaningful. We also had an amazing time on the canoe tour with Maria, who made it incredibly romantic by offering wine and sharing her knowledge about the mangroves and the stunning blue waters. Another memorable moment was the cocktail experience at Cenote Crystal, arranged with the managers and directors. It was a unique and enjoyable experience, and we sincerely appreciated the effort put into making it special. The food options were excellent, with a great variety of restaurants. We loved trying everything, but our absolute favorites were the Japanese and Brazilian restaurants. The Mexican taco spot became our go-to place for snacks and drinks. Overall vacation was good. We love this particular resort for so many reasons! Grounds are beautiful and have so many hidden areas to explore! 98% of stuff was great!!! Food and drinks never disappoint. The beach is getting much much better after years of sea weed problem. They for sure can improve check in experience for their guests by not keeping people standing in line for a long time. One more time - great place for entire family to enjoy nature and services! Highly recommend! Thank you Sandos!

Room was fine space wise we had a penthouse suite but the outside tub was filthy and when we did get it cleaned it did not fill up and the jets were filled with red ants. Our toilet was dirty on day one and stayed that way all week. Probably the biggest disappointment was the food it’s like no one ever tastes anything, absolutely no flavor. Will not return

Upon check in they let me know that half the restaurants and pools were closed due to construction, My “Select club Adult only Penthouse Suite” sections were also closed. They then moved us to a family penthouse and we lost most of the “Select club” privileges..besides a pop up “adult only” (that had plenty minor) pool. A beach club bar and 2 restaurants to have breakfast at out of the 6. The staff did not seem to care, I asked why i was never notified and they blamed expedia. When I contacted expedia they let me know they were never informed anything about the closures at Sandos and that Sandos was refusing to reimburse or credit me more my losses. The food was not very appetizing, My partner got food poisoning for 3 days. They had some great bar tenders that gave amazing service, but unfortunately most workers weren’t that kind or seemed happy to be there. They had a lot of wild animals on site, Including some Donkeys in a farm pen. One evening My partner, a bystander mother and son and I witnessed three women giving the donkeys beer to drink out of their cups. We asked them to stop, as that’s animal cruelty. They responded “we always feed our donkeys at home beer” We immediately went and told the front receptionist about what had just accrued and all they did was shrug. Our air conditioner was broken for 7/10 days we stayed. We asked 4 times for it to be fixed and when I then contacted the expedia rep she said she only saw the work order requested once.

Overall everything was great, very friendly and helpful staff. Only feedback is too much hustling for buying extras (massage, excursion, club tour etc) had to decline sales pitch ~10 times a day
