Very comfortable and well-equipped, bathrooms and kitchen. We did a lot of cooking and it was so nice to have all the utensils, pots and pans, cutlery and dishes. Walking distance to the downtown and grocery store. Great place for a family get together!

Beautiful spacious house. Walkable to downtown area and the wharf (we took a whale tour!) and convenient drive to much of Olympic NP. Our kids loved the hobbit house (until they saw a spider ha). We had a great time hiking and exploring the Olympic Peninsula! We have 2 young kids so kept our hikes to easy 2 mile treks - there’s plenty to explore!Family favorites: tide pooling at Second Beach, hot springs and waterfalls hike at Sol Duc, Hoh Rainforest, Sequim lavender fields, whale watching tour

House is very charming. Fun decor. But more importantly well stocked. Plenty of towels, dinnerware, comfy beds and atmosphere in general. Outside has fire pit and playhouse. We used house as jumping place for day trips. Walkable to bars, restaurants (watch closing times in off season), and ferry.

Nothing short of amazing !

Caitlin’s home in Port Angeles is special, in pretty much every respect. Not only is it well situated to explore almost every area of Olympic Natl Park, but it is located near but not “on” the main drag of PA (which itself is a surprisingly charming area). But the main draw to the property is the unique classic “moody” vibe on the inside, coupled with an outstanding backyard garden/fire pit/porch/Hobbit House situation. As a hostess, Caitlin provided us everything we needed and then some (emergency toiletries, stuff for the kids, excellent local recos), which rounds out an easy 5 star rating for the Queen.

Port Angeles hobbit house

We were very happy with the property. The house was clean warm when we arrived, and the kids loved the hobbit house in the backyard. We were certainly entertained by the local deer and raccoons played in the yard. It was amazing to see a monkey puzzle tree in the front yard. All the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for our meals. We especially liked the big bath towels! Overall, a very nice property centrally located near all the best attractions of Olympic national park

Perfect Stay in Port Angeles

Caitlin's place is charming. It's the perfect mix of vintage with modern touches. It's massive, comfortably fitting our group of 8. The location is great, centrally located. You can walk to bars, restaurants, and coffee shops or just a 2 minute drive there. Can't recommend the place enough!

The home is charming, conveniently located to town and hurricane ridge. What I loved best were the hosts, who thought of every detail. It was like being hosted by friends with such generous hospitality.

Queen of the Strait Review (May - June 2023)

The Queen of the Strait, positioned in a quiet residential Port Angeles neighborhood, is an absolutely charming and well kept historic property. This location is a short walk to downtown restaurants, shops, and other tourist activities, and was a perfect home-base for daily nature outings to the coasts, as well as other Olympic National Park locations and scenic drives. The home also offered a private outside yard/garden space to relax and enjoy in the evenings. Overall the residence and Host provided a great stay for our 5-person group. A few issues to note: There were a couple housekeeping issues that should have been resolved by the cleaning staff between guests, but they were minor and did not take away from the overall experience. For example: Two towels in the downstairs bathroom had stains/ were not clean, there was not enough toilet paper for 5 guests (we purchased more), the refrigerator had many open perishable, but undated condiments, and the freezer drawer had spilled liquid at the bottom of it. Other: All the bedrooms were great sizes, beds were were super-comfortable, but there was no place to open suitcases. A few luggage racks or dressers would have been helpful.
